What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Got shown a very clean pair of heals by a Taycan eTurbo on a quiet motorway on the way to Cosford today.

When you're doing seventy right behind it, traffic moves over and it just pulls one like you're stood still, it's a thing to behold.

I didn't embarrass myself and try anything but gawp at the gap it put between us for 10 secs or so.
They are incredibly quick. You have to be doing silly speeds for that instant thrust to soften.

Got a frickin puncture in a not very old Sport Pilot 2. Hopefully, should be repairable.

Went to the main dealer for the second time in 24 hours, as you now need to pay up front for parts before they order them, and the system to accept card payments wouldn’t work. Back again in Saturday to blooming pick them up. Coming from Germany apparently.

My dealer didn't charge me until delivery.

Never had to to do it before but not ordered parts from a local dealer for years. Maybe it’s because they’re coming from Germany, or maybe a dealer policy, not sure.

I had stuff from Germany and didn't pay until collection.

I've had to pay before they'd order parts once, wouldn't take payment over the phone either . I wasn't happy .

Tyre repaired! Phew.
Nobody seems to keep Pilot Sport 4S in stock at the size needed for the CLS.

Collected new air intake pipes, to replace the originals which have torn. Strange idea for them to be made of cloth. Roads were seriously wet first thing, with lots of localised flooding.

I replaced one on my SL a few months ago, if they go again I might look at a more permanent, less flimsy, alternative.

Otherwise, done nothing to the SL for over a month other than put it on charge. Was going to take it out to the curry house last Thursday but didn't. If the weather stays good today I'm planning on going for a drive to nowhere 😎

The one on my 204 started breaking up; luckily I caught it in time and was able to do a budget fix by gluing it back together. There must be a market for replacement plastic stuff (if such a thing doesn't already exist)

I decided to change the air filters as they hadn't been done since it's, badly done, service at Leicester Mercedes and then noticed that the drivers side one had split but repaired with some thin cloth tape. Now I know I hadn't done the repair and I can't prove that Mercedes Leicester damaged the intake pipe and "fixed it" rather than replace it but no one else has been near the engine since it's last service. Fuming, I was!

Annoying, that is.
But tbf the flippin' things seem to unravel if you sneeze anywhere near them. Rubbish design really.
