What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Its more a true figure to include the cold start.....you have burnt that fuel afterall.......hot only figures are not realistic...and cheating!! A long slightly downhill motorway drive and I could get 80mpg on the gauge after a reset....means nothing though.
True , but I was pencilling in another option. He already knows the figures Inc cold start . I'd personally like to know both . Ok 👌.

Bit the bullet and made a decision about the A service on my SL. 11 years old and full and complete main dealer services history up till now but lost confidence in my local main dealer so after a lot of thought I serviced it myself. Only a standard A service with no extras needed this year, I already had the oil so bought a genuine oil filter from mb Edinburgh and half hour later it was all done including lubrication of hinge points on boot and bonnet.

Don't blame you given the cost .

Just spent a pleasant couple of hours cleaning all the door shuts with Chemical Guys Inner Clean and a detail brush on both cars . Even did under the doors .
Followed by some Gummi on the door seals as well .
Even scrubbed the dirt off the pedals .
Its not a 100% job , got to leave some room for improvements in the future ;)
Neither is it up to the full standards of @badgx or @Alex225 ….I humbly beg them to not be too critical

Awesome work matey. Canny beat a clean door jamb. 👌👍👏🥳

Decided it was time to hopefully cure the annoying boot leak on my 2008 C320. which kept wetting the area where rear fuse box is located into battery tray and finally the spare wheel well. All seemed to be on drivers side passenger side was always bone dry?
Boot seal looks ok after putting talc on it and closing the boot lid it was touching all around and no visible damage (didnt think it was this as the boot carpet stayed dry)
Purchased 2 new gaskets for rear lights and fitted them
Silicone sealed around the vent on drivers side behind the bumper.

I don't think I will have to wait long before the rain comes to see if its worked

Bin the silicone and use this stuff , it's what they use in the factory. Pull off any rubber seal trims , apply this around the metalwork and reseat the rubber trim. It's not just the rubber seal that stops water getting in. Water gets in through where the seal attaches to the car . Its flexible and doesn't dry out .

Is that similar to RTV sealant that’s used on cars ?

Yes buddy . It's also available in white . It sorted out my ford kugas boot .
I think I used rtv around my E class rear lights and boot seal when I had a leak …good stuff because that was years ago .
Edit….sorry I missed out “buddy” ;)

Been there ,done it with my w211 , number plate surround off , held on with about 20 plastic poppers ,anyone of them is a potential leak.

Considering cancelling my A service and getting an oil extraction pump and DIYing.
Already have the oil and filter from MB Edinburgh.
It’s easy to do a gearbox sump atf change with a suction pump as well . £34 for 4L of Fuchs AtF4134 :)

The £10 ones Lidl sell are more useful than a Pela . I've used mine for diesel, ad blue and engine oil .

Good call. I only intend getting a cheap one to use on the shed.
If and when I get back in an AMG then it will have a digital service record, not my word its been done.
