What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Took the S204 for MoT on Saturday morning, failed on corroded rear NS brake line, arb ball joint rubbers plus a few advisories, so took it to the garage this morning to get the "Repair Immediately" jobs done. They called a little while ago to advise me that once they had the wheels, wheel arch liners and covers off so they could see everything, the OS rear is also bad so lots of work to trace the lines forward and find where they can join new sline to good existing. At least the rubber boots are cheap and available, but my credit card is already shuddering at the expected many hundreds the repairs will cost!

Took it to work for the first time since 30th November. 🥴

Not impressed by normality. 😊
Work is over-rated Ant. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy it when I do it, but I’d much prefer to wake up and think “now what shall I do today” every morning 😁

Picked my son up from school in an interesting car which I’ve not driven for a long time. I have to park well away from school as our cars embarrass him 🙄

Took the verrrrry long way home for a bit of boys time, with a few back roads and and a quick blast down the dual carriageway. Shorts on, roof down, always 👍🏻

Some very very fine dusty snow fell too - I wouldn’t have believed it had it not fallen on me in the drive thru lane at Starbucks. Winter tyre equipped so no drama.

Listened to the Cars soundtrack on the way back, with our venti skinny latte and earl grey. The Dazzler boys really are b-b-b-b-baaaaaaaad to the bone! 😁

New rear ABS ring fitted to W204 estate.

Usual fault where old one had delamintaded and the outside part was inside hub.

Pain of a job, stupid design.

I had 5 brake lines replaced on my S204 last year for £160 all in.

Was it the red rag top or black tin top Rob?

Well, just had a call from the garage, S204 is ready for collection, but wife is at work until 2 so don't know if we'll collect it today or tomorrow morning. The bill - good job I was sitting down - £702.60. OUCH OUCH OUCH. Car has cost me best part of £1500 in the past month, and that's without getting the lacquer peel on the bonnet (bonnet repsray) and ?respray of rear passenger door done. That's going to lead to even more "new car time" comments from wife and daughter!

Rear brakes (pads, discs and 1 caliper) £665, replace offside horn(£98), now fixing the MoT fail items! Still have to get a price for the paintwork defects.

Just got the car back from Millenium Mercedes Bedford. Wing mirror fixed and MoT Passed with no advisories. Happy to keep up the run of every MoT passed and it has never had an advisory too. :)

Just turned over 90k miles today. Low mileage for an E-Class.
