What MPG are people getting?

I will note that my car over-reads by 10% vs. my own fuel in, miles out calculation. It used to be just 1-2% out, but I made the mistake of mentioning getting slightly lower MPG to my servicing dealer and their solution was to tweak something on the computer lol.

That's unethical if so, the technicians making the trip computer give 10% more optimistic readings to give the impression the car is doing more miles per gallon after the workshop visit

Late thirties mpg in my w124 Superturbodiesel.
Not bad for 450bhp/456ft-lbs.

From the CL? That's impressive. :thumb:

My Merc:

My Jeep:

Mercedes is an E63 Bi Turbo, Jeep is an SRT-8 6.1 Hemi.

The Jeep's the daily driver. :D

I thought so.

Hiya,

39.8 MPG according to the dash (probably slightly less real world), over the course of just over 46,000 miles in my E350 cdi in the last 15 months, nearly all Motorway and A Roads. I do like the torque!

My recently-acquired R500SE is doing 16.2mpg on local runs. The only longer run I've done in it so far was when I collected it, 75 miles on mainly d/c and m'way - it did 26.6, at legal speeds.

I'm glad I made the move to petrol - its the new green fuel, I'm helping to save the planet! :D

W213 2ltr diesel 9 speed auto in really heavy traffic on A12 and M25

2004 54plate w211 E55 AMG

3000mile average 19mpg
Usual daily trip 12mile motorway and 5mile urban generally average 24mpg in grandad mode. Or 22mpg in normal is mode or 18 in ludicrous mode lol

Filled up and drove about for about 30 miles and then to Oxford along A40. Noted 733 miles still available (depending on driving style etc etc) when nearly at Oxford. I know it is only a figure, but that is the best I have seen. I shall be making an effort to improve on that......maybe. ;-)

E55 1100 miles trip most on autobahn doing 90-100mph, some places up to 140mph = 22.1mpg

Varies a lot. Struggle to get to 20mpg on the 2 mile round trip from cold for the weekly food shopping trip. On a 2639 mile trip around Europe doing speeds of up to 150mph on Germany's autobahns and lots of enthusiastic drives up various Alpine roads including Italy's Stelvio Pass with its 48 hairpin bends on the way up, returned an average of 34 mpg. Steady UK motorway trips of around 100 miles and staying with the faster traffic nudge 40mpg. Not too shabby for a 3.5 litre V6 petrol with 306 horses tethered under the bonnet. (Rare 2012 C350 Sport saloon with pretty much every option including the Dynamic Handling pack.)

E270 cdi 283K

Since I bought this off Lee I've done 6K. Average is 44 (47 on the OBD). On Wednesday I pottered down to Gloucester from Brum and the OBD said 60.1. Not bad from the old girl I thought

95 W124 E280 with 5 speed- 27 mpg from Belfast to Rosslare, Cherbourg to St Malo and back........6 people, roof box and bike rack- I was happy with that

Fuel milage remaining after driving 30 miles.......892 ! Was well upset when it just would not go to 900. Maybe next time.

...1995 sl320 with 56k miles

Just completed a 426 mile (on one full tank) trip around the Cotswolds calculated at 29.35mpg which considering either the top was down or when up the climate control was running is bloody impressive!
