Which normal tyres (Not Snow tyres..) Budget / branded etc..

Hello

Looking at getting some new tyres for some alloys I have aquired. These will be for a S211.

I do approx 4K miles a year,

Now I've had a quick look and

Fulda
Falken
Vredestine
Toyo

^ these seem to be 'branded ok' makes...


Then I looked at these (and we put these on the front of my wifes old A210 a class) and they were great

Khumo
Hankok

and there are others that seem very cheap but never heared of them..


What do people think, does any one else use Khumo / Hankok? similar? Auto express always seem goof for tyre tests and from memory some of the less known ones actually do quite well..

My theory is a new tyre of any make is better than a low tread tyre of the best make...but would be good to hear what you think.

Been impressed with Kumhos for everyday motoring on a price performance basis. So evidently was Mercedes! Kumho Tyres - European Site
A fairly well kept secret inevitably if they get too popular the price will increase.

For such a low mileage i'd be tempted to fit an all season, or even winter tyre and use it all round.

Hankook are pretty expensive these days, almost Conti prices or more.

Vredstein Quatrac would be my choice as a proven all rounder.

If you're only doing 4k miles, you would be better off with Winter Tyres (not snow tyres, winter tyres. There is a big difference).

Snow tyres would be overkill for an all season tyre... but winter tyres, given out weather, would be some good all-rounders.
