Hello
My father has a Mercedes 190E 2.0 (engine type: 1026).
He needs to fit a new Fuel Distributor-Air intake device. However, he just can't fathom how to do it.
A little pipe needs to be attached at the bottom (see picture). This is the main cause of the difficulty.
Any help would be appreciated.

Picture are attached. 1) Shows the (old) part fitted. The white line is to highlight it.
2) This shows part ready to be fitted.
3) This shows the small hole which needs to be attached to a pipe.

thanks in advance
Ash

I've been over to see my father and now I understand the problem better.
Thanks Graeme; we already have the plastic part. :p

The issue is with this plastic pipe. When this fuel distributor is pushed down onto the plastic pipe, it flexes and so doesn't click in place. What we really need to do is put one hand around the bottom, push the pipe up while pushing the fuel distributor down. However there is no space to put a hand 'round the back . The specific question is: how do we reach around the back; what needs to be removed (no obvious answer to either)?

thanks in advance
Ash

I can only suggest you dismantle the flexible pipework a little further "upstream" such that you fix the plastic pipe +pipework in place on the Fuel Distributor-Air intake device before installing it on the manifold. you should then have easy access to the flexible pipework to join it up again?

thanks, now sorted

Thanks for everyone who read and posted to this thread.
Removal of the oil filter free'd up enough space to reach below.

thanks again.
