C350e owners club

Thought it would be fun to find out the 0-60 time for the c350e running just on electric. I can't find any official figures.

I found a flat bit of road and managed 0-60 in 21 secs. Anyone managed a better time?

270 horses and you need a calendar to time the acceleration. To put that in perspective my golf plug in does the 0 - 60 dash in electric in 5.7 secs. Great bit of engineering MB not.

Really, that is far from impressive!! Pretty disappointed now to be honest. I guess that's the risk you take when you order a car with out driving it.

Looks like 35mpg as an average for the next 4 years then as 21 seconds is abismyl :fail

I have been really impressed with the car. Enjoying the different personalities of the car. Comfort and refinement with the possibility of great power and acceleration when not on a commute run.

Now driven 4000 miles in 2 months with a couple of long trips and averaging 45 mpg. I charge the car overnight on a daily basis.

On day to day commute more than reasonable economy. I am getting about 50mpg on a round trip of 50 miles, 40 of which are on motorway. Car is not really designed to accelerate hard up to 60 on just electric, it does however feel brisk 0-30 on electric and very fast with ICE and electric boost.

A quick check on the VW website shows a GTE has a max 0-62 of 7.6 seconds using electric and Petrol combined. Perhaps the e-Golf is quicker but with a max range of 118 miles given its electric only we are not really comparing like-for-like.

I have a GTE-R not available in the UK unless special order from VW Motorsport Germany.

The Standard GTE in electric is sub 10 secs check out the you tube vids. Standard GTE with petrol and electric in use is just over 6 secs again all well documented on you tube. The VW figures are garbage so as not to detract from GTi sales

You should really take the time to learn the different driving modes of this car. Emode is categorically not about achieving a mega sprint start. For that, Hybrid in comfort or either of the sport modes will more than suffice and leave you with a big smile on your face.

Emode is brilliant for driving in congested areas such as city centres or in the rush hour. My daily commute is done mostly in E, luxuriating in the rich sound of the Burmester sound system or the near silence of electric operation.

As for this 35mpg business - just research driving sensibly. Judging the traffic flow, red lights, anticipating other road users, coasting where appropriate etc. It's not difficult. And then you'll easily be up in the high forties / fifties or even better if you charge regularly.

See my last 2 days taken from Mercedes me web app in e next post down. And believe me, there's some spirits Sport+ action going on there :thumb:

Use this...

This is the best option for your dash if you're struggling to achieve your desired economy....

My slight concern regarding mpg is when i do 200 mile trips (mainly motorways) stay overnight then head back (or onto somewhere else for a 150 mile) without charging overnight - is anyone else doing these type of journeys and what does the MPG like with a 70mph cruising speed on motorways?

Hi flango - I'm really interested in the GTE-R you mention but I can't find any information or reference to it. Can you point me at any websites with info - German sites are fine! Thanks in advance [emoji1]

My experience in that kind of speed is not good reading for you.
And charging value would be close to none in a larger math piece on this tour.
Keep a light foot on the pedal, use distronic if you have this option.
Sit back and enjoy a comfort ride in your awesome car.
In this speed nothing beats diesel in my experience.
On highway in Germany, totally new engine so use a lot more the first hours.
I got 28 mgp.
The grin on my face made it worth the fuel.
:)

My experience on motorway over 150 miles at 70mph is 45mpg, starting with a full charge. Coasting and Leccy down hill after 100 mikes kept the consumption at 45mpg.

I do this sort of journey quite often and you'd prolly be around 38 MPG, mind you mostly I travel at 80 to 85 on motorways and occasionally might "accidentally" slip into Sport mode.

If you were to drive cautiously and not exceed 70 would expect very early 40's MPG.

I've got used to mine now, (my old A4 2.0 diesel would exceed 55 MPG on the same sort of journey), and as every one says the driving experience makes it all worthwhile.

Thanks everyone,

I Ticked every option & Brilliant Blue with exception of Tow Bar and 18" wheels :-( couldnt justify the extra tax break and i quite like the 17" style :-) - making the move from a 520d

That's reassuring as i do mainly motorway miles and will only get the opportunity to charge a couple of times per week (typically I cover 4-500 miles per week)....i get 13p per mile back in expenses so as long as i'm above 36mpg i should be ok :-) fingers crossed!!!

Gap at rear passenger doorsill...

Only just noticed this. Surely a factory mistake? Any other estate owners confirm please?!

And that's a very attractive vehicle you've got there! Polar White? I'm expecting my Sport PP Estate in Diamond White (metallic) on 11 Apr.
