C350e owners club

Whats amusing?

Probably wrong choice of words. More that it's unusual to see tyres with a high profile these days with the fashion being massive alloys and ultra low profile tyres.

mercedes Me Peak/Off-peak Electricity

Anyone else notice the new Mercedes Me button?

Makes me wonder whether it would now be worth getting Economy 7 electricity tariff and charging during the off-peak hours (if it works!)

Just had confirmation that mine is in stock, just got to wait until 4th April for delivery as that's when my current lease expires. Going to be a long month!

Just been out for my first drive. Initial impressions:

- Electric mode is soooo smooth and quiet! Lovely.
- Full charge only gives me 15 miles electric range. Thought it was mean to be 19.
- Electric range seems to drop quite rapidly even with lightfooted driving.
- Car seems to charge up quite quickly on my 13A domestic 3 pin socket, with charge settings set to 13A and the power brick set to maximum. Plug gets only very mildly warm.
- Sport+ performance is not quite as punchy as I was expecting given the 275bhp and 442 ft lbs of torque. I recently had a new BMW 330d as a courtesy car which has 253 bhp and 413 ft lbs but the Beemer seemed quicker. That could be because the BMW is lighter and has an 8 speed gearbox, and I probably need to drive the C350e a bit more to come to a conclusion.
- LOVE the 360 camera, I've never had this or any kind of reverse camera on a car before. Glad I specced this.
- Haven't got Mercedes Me activated yet because apparently the "systems are down" - looking fwd to trying this out.

Overall I think it's a great car, very happy so far :)

It's arrived!!!

Finally, after a full 9 month wait my C350e estate arrived today - STINKING DIRTY, having been transported in the open-air and p***ing rain.

Have only driven it to the jet wash and home so far, but one thing's for sure, it's a lovely place to be - cocooned in Mercedes loveliness!!

Congrats lookyhooky, that blue looks a lovely colour. I had a 9 month wait for mine too but I think it's been worth the wait :)

ooo Cavansite Blue? that's what i'm getting and is the first i've seen so far!

Have a feeling mine will be transported in the same way too :| - oh well! Still looks stunning.

playing around with/discovering the cars various menus and sub menus and came across the maximum charging rates within the hybrid settings. Has anyone tried to change these? Mine is set by default to the lowest, 8 amps, but you can have 10 and 13 (i think) also. Would it shorten the charge time if you increased it? Has anyone tried this?

Just waved my car off on the back of a tow truck.

Got a message to stop the car, let the transmission cool down. Did that for a bit, turned engine off and then back on again, message cleared. Carried on my journey, very quickly the message came back on with the gearbox going haywire.

Eventually after a few miles, when I came to a full stop, the car just switched off, and that was it.

Lets see how long they have it for!!!!!!!!

crikey! that sounded a bit scary. I hope they sort it out quickly for you.

replacement car from Europcar is on its way, so.

Will see what happens when the dealer calls.

about 4000.

and this morning I didn't even drive for a long time.
Merc assist say they have heard of a few people having this issue. Not sure why it should happen, especially as it is not that warm out. (in face it was sleeting in hertfordshire this morning

Yes I've changed my car setting to 13A max, and set the power brick to maximum. Seems to charge quicker but I haven't timed it yet. Plug only gets mildly warm.

Mine is set to the maximum in the menu but then I have a Polar charger mounted on my garage, not sure if the internal systems would recognise this and compensate automatically?

First journey - 0 miles electric available. Quite pleased with that

Looks excellent! But for those who, like me, haven't driven the beast yet could you explain what the "engine off" miles mean please? Can it mean that you did 35 miles on battery? Not continuous, of course, but with some charging in bursts. Thanks.

Means 35 miles in hybrid mode if the driver started with no battery. Just like a Toyota hybrid in essence, with battery being replenished by brake regeneration etc.
