The voice control is diabolical! - Please can someone try to get it to goto crawley.... It was insistant that i was saying Corley (Where on earth is corley?!) try training the voice control - just don't do it where anyone can see as it looks like you are talking to yourself !!! It gets you to speak numbers, letters and post codes - mine worked much more accurately afer
And again, settings for things. How do you shut the Nav lady up?...
I'm wondering if common sense would be useful for these, like options to say, only speak in the last x miles of the trip - as most people know how to get out of their own drive, but need directions nearer? If you press the voice control button whilst in the nav screen and say guidance instructions off she shuts up, then say guidance instructions on when you need them - you can also shut her up by selecting the voice symbol in the nav screen
Still yet to find a volume for her, and well, at present i'm using my phone as a sat nave - as well - its quiet and just gets on with it. Just turn the volume down when she is speaking either by the sound volume wheel in the centre console or just the down volume on the wheel
My biggest gripe is still the Display in KMPh....
So i normally love having the MPH screen on the display cluster in front of me, however, the sat nave bit looks good. The only problem is, it displays KMPH below, which is utterly useless... This always annoyed me so I specified the HUD !!!
In case you think I am a being smart - my C350e is my 5th Merc and it has taken me this long to work out how Merc arrange things
Most definitley dont think you are being smart, and thank you very much for the replies. As you can probably tell i wrote that whilst annoyed and quite tired.
I really do appreciate the reponse and time taken, and youve pretty much sorted most of it out for me
Took the car to the Brighton MB garage today and they've fixed the door quite quickly - despite Chichester garage saying a whole new door mechanism needed!
I've done the voice intro thing, so crossing fingers it will work better now, and will give it a spin during the week.
I'm still intrigued that the sat nav voices don't have extra options such as Mute for first or last x% of the trip - as most people know where they are leaving or coming home from. Would be a good one for the future. But thankfully i've now shut her up
- even if i do have to do it every time
Next Time HUD will be on the list!!! What they should do is place the kph on the left with the dial and allow the MPH showing always. (Probably near where the temp should be but isnt? hehe
The other thing they could do is to allow a split screen a main one and a preferential screen. (Yes aware the screen is split for autos anyway) - but its frustrating that only one thing at a time can be shown. Would be great to be able to create combinations such as Eco modes + Speed or Sat Nav + Speed or MPG + speed. (OK re-occuring theme for me, i miss the speed lol).
Another odd thing, has anyone else noticed that the DAB title + info screen is missing on the radio screen? on all my other DAB cars it would show eitehr the shows title and/or the song being played, guests etc... But on this screen its just the square with the radio station name thats all? (Still hunting options out.)
I feel that the real estate on the screen is heavily underused and they could pack a lot more in to make it more useful
Getting used to the hand control, still trying to touch and swipe the main screen! oops! - but slowly and surely getting there.
And thanks to the kind gent who told me about enabling the surround sound / burmeister on each the radio and media menus. Sounding much much better now!
With connect me working as well, i'm starting to feel much more part of the club and quite a bit happier.
Just need the MPG and fuel consumption to edge up a bit and i'll be v happy!
