Do these wheels/tyres fit?? Read this first! Offset/fitment answers within..

can you help

hi sorry to jump on thread , i have a 190e merc 92reg , i have been on chart but cannot see if these tyresand wheels will fit details ---195/60/15 et 31 6j , help would be welcome cheers billy

Been offered a set of proper bbs splitties dirt cheap, unfortunately 5 x 120

so if i fitted proper 20 mm hubcentric spacers / adapters added to the 7/5j rims with a offset of 41, this would make an offset of 21 all round - would this be too low and cause proplems ????

cheers

Hi guys, I just wanted to check:

Are these AMG alloys suitabe for a W208 CLK ?

FRONTS: 225/45/17, 7.5J x 17" with an offset of 37.

REARS: 245/40/17, 8.5J x 17" with an offset of 30

Also, can take off the standard W208 alloys and bolt these straight on or do I need spacers and/or new bolts ?

Thanks for your help.

should be fine with same caps/bolts unless you have the 21mm bolts (undo and measure).

Hello guys!

Im planning to buy a set of replicas with the size of 17X8J, ET40.
My stock wheels and tyres E240 W210 are 215/55/16. 16x7.5J, ET41

Is it going to fit properly? How about spacer and what is the suitable tyre size for the new wheels? I am thinking of 235/45/17 tyre size. Your valuable advice is needed. Thanks, cheers :thumb:

The best thing to do with counterfeit wheels is to test fit them, and purchase a couple of spares because it's impossible to subsequently find matching items if you damage one.

I have just purchased the above car and would like to replace the 15" steel wheels with alloys. Which 16" or 17" x 225/235 alloys would fit straight on with no modifications?

Thanks

Chris can you please advise what tyre size I would need for these wheels on a S211? I have looked at the sticky but cannot find this width listed?

2 ARE 9 X 18
2 ARE 9.5 X 18
ET 38 OFFSET
PART NUMBER IS A 211 401 7002

Thank you in advance

I wanted to get some winter tyres. My CLS 320CDi currently has summer tyres, 245/45 r17. Winter tyres of that size seem to be mega expensive right now, so I wondered if other tyre sizes would fit on my wheel rims. Unfortunately I don't understand the PDF at the top of this thread. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Nice to see you're doing OK Murray :)

Pirelli P6 4 seasons seem to be the cheapest in 245 size. (could leave them on all year too) :thumb:

Still £160 a corner (fitted) though.

Have you considered seeing what deal Mercedes come up with for a set of winter wheels with tyres included? I think they have a promotion on at the moment. The savings you'll make on a narrower tyre will likely cover the cost of the winter rims.

Looking at the chart, it seems that you have 17 x 8.5 inch rims which could take 225/45/17 tyres which gives you a much greater and cheaper choice of winter tyre.

Thanks for the info John - may pop into your office early Feb to say hello.

I had contacted my main dealer earlier this week and they can't get hold of winter tyres at all, even from MB Germany. The salesman's sales director got some winter tyres cheaply for his car (not a CLS though) from reifen.com (Germany) and received them 5 days from order date. But Vredestein 245/45 R17 99V Wintrac Xtreme XL FSL are 250 euros from there, approx £210, so quite expensive.

Using the reifen site for comparison, I see that Vredestein 225/45 R17 94V Wintrac Xtreme XL FSL are at 140 euros (about £120), quite a saving!

Also, according to the etyres tyre size calculator (Changing tyres sizes - tyre size change calculator) , 225/45/17 would have a 2.76% smaller diameter. That web page recommends that you stay within 2.5% of your original tyre size.
Playing with the numbers showed that 225/50/17 was a closer match (ie 0.77% larger diameter).

Would 225/50/17 make sense? Would the smaller 225mm diameter affect handling?

Help please!!

Just picked up my first MB last week and can't say how pleased I am with it. It's an 2003 E Class 320CDI with just about every extra you can think of, well almost :D

Anyway, I noticed prior to buying that the rear tyres will shortly need replacing. The car sits on 18" AMG's and looks fab, measuring on the front 255/40 and on the rear 285/35. Just got off the phone to the local fitter who I've dealt with for years and he seems to think that these are wheels off an SL and shouldn't be on my motor..!! He is suggesting that they will be rubbing. Can't see any signs of this tbh but now a little concerned to say the least...

Does anyone know for sure if this is the case..? I sincerely hope not

I did but, being completely honest, I couldn't make any sense of it I'm afraid - hence my post :thumb:

I have exactly the same tyre spec on a set of SL wheels which I bought a couple of weeks ago. No issues with tyre rub at all but the correct sizes for your W211 are 245/40/18 for the front and 265/35/18 for the rear. I would switch to this spec when you get the new boots put on
