Do these wheels/tyres fit?? Read this first! Offset/fitment answers within..

Anyone know if 17" wheels will clear the front brake calipers on my 08 CLK 320 CDI sport which has 18" AMG wheels as standard.
Looking to get a set with Winter tyres. Got away without last year but 2years in a row with almost no Snow might be asking a lot!
Sorry if this in the wrong thread.

Hi,

Great thread, very helpful!

I have a 2007 CLS which has 245/40x18 on the front and 245/45x18 on the rear.

I have been offered 4 AMG 18x9.5 alloys, which the seller says take either 255/50x18 or 265/18x18.

Will these fit my car and are these the correct size tyres for these rims?

Many thanks,

Pat.

245's on 9.5 is the minimum u can fit, and they will look and feel stretched with little side wall flex

i have 255's on 9.5's at the back of my c class and i wish i could get 265's on there as they still look a little stretched

as for fitting ur car check the offsets and size against the originals and make sure u dont come inside too much and rub on the suspension

there are calculator sites around that can help u, and hopefilly someone with the same model will come along

Thank you so much, very helpful!

you will want the staggered set up 8.5j front 255/40/18 & 9.5j rear 285/35/18 my current cls setup.. These are genuine AMG wheels with the 219 part nos stamped. Be careful what you buy.

wheel shot.jpg

Just bought the car SL55 AMG, 2002 version.

I'm told wheels are split rim 63's?

Front are: 255 / 19 / 35 9.5J.

Rear: 295 / 19 / 30 11J.

Seems silly. Any views on these enormous wheel rim sizes guys?:dk:

I think they are from a 65... i.e. SL65AMG.

When I changed from the CLS219 to the E class 211 I kept the CLS winter wheels thinking they'll fit the E class no problem!

Now it's come time to fit them I thought I'd check the offsets. My E Class is a 320CDI Avantgarde with 17" 17x8" ET38 all round fitted with 245s. The CLS wheels are Front 17x8.5" ET28, Rear 17x8.5" ET18 all fitted with 245s. Fronts seem close enough but the rears are 20mm difference with only 0.5" difference in width.

Will I run into trouble?

W212 E Class Wheels on C63

Just a fitment query that perhaps someone could help with?

Would a set of 18” wheels off a W212 E Class fit the C63 without any caliper fouling issues or would I need spacers?

E Class Wheels:
Front 8.5x18 ET48 245/40/18
Rear 9x18 ET48 265/35/18

C63
Front 8x18 ET45 235/35/19
Rear 9x18 ET54 255/30/19

I know you are comparing wheel sizes here, but...you have said 19 for the tyres on the C63...but 18 wheels.

Apologies, typo from me!

C63 wheels came in 18" and 19" flavour, original post should read:

Hi I currently have 245/40/18 front and 265/35/18 at the rear.

I want to downgrade to 17s for more comfort and avoid potential pothole blowout.

Can you guys recommend me some wheel types/models/offsets that would be fine for my car? :)

Will these wheels fit my 1999 ml320

Just joined yesterday and could do with some advise - Am looking to change my wheels on my 1999 ml320 to atomic turbine 20 inch , 9 inch wide ,cb 66.6 , with offset either 35 or 45 not sure if these will fit and what offset would be better,Any help would be gratefull.

Welcome to the forum.

Scroll down on the link below to the M class wheels and check out your sizes. I can't see 9" wide only 8.5,9.5 and 10 ". Looks to me like the ET45 would be your best bet to fit.
