Do these wheels/tyres fit?? Read this first! Offset/fitment answers within..

Would these fit my SL55 without problems?

(the profile might be too high—same as my 18s?)

Sorry to jump on your thread but.............................Hi all, can anybody tell me weather I can fit Wheels with an ET size of 48 on my 2004 E class. It says 35-38 on the spec but would I squeeze them on??? Thanks

19" wheels on 2011 c207

Hi Sorry for hi-jacking this post but I am new to this forum and cannot seem to post anywhere on here.
I am desperate to know if some wheels that I am buying on Saturday will fit my car. I have a 2011 E350cdi coupe that is standard in every way. The wheels are genuine Mercedes but are 19x8,5 et35.5 and 19x9,5 et43. Tyre's are 255/35 and 285/30. They have the number A2124016602 cast into them.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

I have taken the 17" AMG alloys from our W204 into a dealer with my winter tyres fitted, for them to fit ontomy new W205 AMG line C220. The dealer has said the calipers on the new car foul the old wheel, and doesn't know a solution.
Has anyone manged to get round this Problem?
Frustrated as the sales person assured me they would fit fine!

find out where they are fouling, ask them to be a little more specific than "they foul the wheel" that's a piss poor description, and they know it.

A lot of the time, the changes in that area between models are minor, caliper/disc and changes tend not to be very big, however, offset/inset requirements can vary quite a bit, so what you may require is spacers, which they should be able to work out very easily.

For my wheels (brabus monoblock VI's) i contacted MB milton keynes, and they looked up the requirements, and worked out that i needed 5mm spacers on the front to clear the suspension strut and give better clearance on the caliper. Dealers should all be capable of doing this

Ok I have found the solution....
I purchased 15mm spacers, with 15mm extra length bolts & collars to accommodate the AMG 17" alloys from the 204 model. Result is they fit with no catching or rubbing. It has a slightly wider track, but hardly notable. Whether you could go down to 10mm is another question.
Cost was £91 for wheels spacers and bolts from Demon Tweeks, Wrexham.

A bit of offset guidance...

New to forum and to my 2014 e220 SE Bluetec which is a lovely car (switched to a sensible estate now I have a family!).

The link to the wheel and tyre combinations is great but one question. I am planning to change my standard 17" to 18" or maybe 19" but finding guidance on various sites re offset rather confusing and sometimes a bit contradictory, so from the hyperlinked chart for s212 can I basically go with any of those wheel and tyre combinations and not need spacers?

Cheers
James

In a word, yes. You should only require spacers when the offset number (ET) is higher than recommended.
You will notice as the wheel diameter rises, the tyre profile is reduced to keep the same rolling radius which can affect wheel speed sensors if incorrect.
Not sure without reading the whole thread which link has been provided but this one seems to be the standard one used.

Wheel sizes

Hi folks , I got a 2008 cls 320cdi a few weeks back and went to get new tyres today , the lad told me that the rims are not the right size for the car and when I looked at the back wheels they just didn't look right at all . So my question is , can someone please let me know the proper rim size and width , at the moment they are 245/40/18 all round , now I know the back should be broader . many thanks.

It depends as MB did supply your car as standard with non staggered width tyres. However, the offsets will be slightly staggered.

By this I mean it's the same wheel but the rears should poke out slightly more. On the inside of each wheel it will say ET28 (roughly) and ET25 roughly.

The 25 should be on the rear.

The mistake people make is swapping the wheels around as they are the same width and don't bother looking at offset.

So yes matching 245 width is factory unless specified for the wider 275 9.5J wheel.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Gunning , thank you for taking the time to help , but I'm lost . Believe it or not I worked in a tyre depot in the late 70`s . as it sits , do I go and buy new rims or get 245/40/18 on front and either 275/40/18 or 285/40/18 on back . OH , I didn't get a manual with the car that's why I'm a bit lost . thanks.

No dramas.

So basically you need to take every wheel off, check what is stamped on the back of them. Also if you post a photo of your car that will also help determine what wheels you're running.

Don't buy new wheels or bigger tyres until you've worked out why these ones don't look right. It might be as simple as changing backs to front.

Offset which is stamped as ET followed by a number determines how far in or out your wheel sits from the hub. The lower the number the further out it is.

Guys, I think I have a problem. I just got AMG Staggered V Monoblocks. 8.5x18'' ET44 with 245/45/18 tires. The thing is, I have a W203 sedan. Is it possible in any way, to fit those rims under my W203?
Would it help, if I would buy 225/40/18 tires and add 5mm spacers back and front?

Any advice? These rims are really nice and I got them with a nice price. I havent seen any W203s with those rims, so it would look awesome.

Have a look at AMGeed post #291 , great info on sizes and fitments. All the best.

Cla w117 on c class w205

Hi I have just ordered a C class saloon w205 2016 and wanted to get some alloys as the standard 17's are not great.

Can you fit the CLA alloys on the c class in particular the following:

TYRE SIZE - SIZE 225/40/18

Rim Width: 7.5J
Number of Studs: 5
Rim Diameter: 18
Tyre Width: 225

These are the 18 amg multi sport alloys that come with the amg line cla's.

You help is appreciated guys.

I'd suggest you use this website to cross check the oem sizes fitted to both models to see if you can use CLA wheels on your C Class.

http://www.wheel-size.com/size/mercedes/c-class/2016/

Pay particular attention to the ET (the offset) of each wheel as they need to almost the same to avoid rubbing either the caliper or wheel arch.
