I’ve been saying this very thing for many a year. Waving the checkered flag, hot laps in super cars and general pit lane and grid passes through the weekend. Randomly picked digitally. Why, was May - or indeed any celebrity - asked to wave the chequered flag? What to a celebrity is that when they attend so many events as VIPs? Think what (metaphorically/virtually) randomly drawing a child's ticket and granting it and its family access-all-area passes culminating in waving the chequered flag would have meant for that family. A truly unforgettable day for the rest of their lives. How long in May's memory does that day survive? For sure, the way it was done was no PR win for Silverstone or F1.

BTCC and GT racing is great for this, very easy to get direct access to the grid, the pits, garages, etcI’ve been saying this very thing for many a year. Waving the checkered flag, hot laps in super cars and general pit lane and grid passes through the weekend. Randomly picked digitally.
BSB also, well was the last time I went and hoping it still is.BTCC and GT racing is great for this, very easy to get direct access to the grid, the pits, garages, etc
Still a free pit lane walk at Brands Hatch for the BSB and GT series.BSB also, well was the last time I went and hoping it still is.
Interesting qualifying. McLaren looking very quick.Well. That was tight. The futures bright - The future is Orange.
The McLaren is currently right on it. Just needs the pitwall/garage to get it right during the race.Interesting qualifying. McLaren looking very quick.
Mercedes slipped up badly not fuelling Russell's car for the last quali' laps.
Another Perez error pushing him closer to an exit from the team.
And Danny Ric' would be the one to take his seat going on his last few races.I would not be in the least surprised if Perez is ousted after the summer break, especially as the other teams have caught up/surpassed RB so Max can’t win the constructor’s on his own.
Exactly.Hmm…
The only reason Piastri got in front in the first place is because he squeezed Lando into Max in turn 1 and Lando had to get out of the throttle. So, for me Lando was (legitimately) compromised by his team mate in turn 1 and was then screwed over by his team in the final stint. But that’s just my view.Lando (unusually) benefitted twice from first dibs on the pit stops to protect him from Lewis. So only right he should give the place back. Had the team pitted Oscar first he’d have raced off into the distance AND Lando would have been vulnerable to Lewis.
As a McLaren fan I don’t care which way around a 1-2 is.
Lots of if, buts & maybes. We will see if the team regrets the switch come the end of the season.
As I said. Lead car usually pits first. Lando benefited on both stops handing him 2 undercuts on his team mate.….and was then screwed over by his team in the final stint. But that’s just my view.
