"Class leading hot hatch".....I think not!.....I was selling cars then (VW/Audi) .....they were never even close to the Golf GTI, Pug 205 GTI, Xr3i.....or pretty much any other hot hatch you could name.....flimsy as you like too.

They were crap indeed. For a toy I have a 2020 Polo 2.0t GTI+, what a great little car that is and 8loody quick too

I was pressing on a bit on a back road during a sunny day last week, when there was the unmistakable sound of a bike engine screaming up behind me. Looking in the mirror a Reliant Robin suddenly appeared and flew passed. No rear hatch, just open bodywork and obvious space frame structure with twin exhausts where the rear window would have been. Hyabusa engine or something similar I would guess with standard tatty blue Reliant body dropped over the top. It was so quick I couldn't even see whether it was still a three wheeler. Someone had a sense of humour.

I was recently chatting to a chap with one with 360 BHP which is the “safe map” and would manage close to 400 BHP in the aggressive state of tune. He said that when he gets around to fitting the injectors he has in a box on the shelf then 440 BHP is relatively easy. Must be manic!
