Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

You may well be right Mr Duck, it was a very long time ago.

Beautiful looking example you have there. Pointed question therefore,,,, : How is yours immunised from the same sort of issue??? (or did they address the corrosion problem on later versions).
I seem to recall being told at the time by someone "in the know" that the metal they were made from was literally steel from re-cycled washing machines.
Well I don't think it's immune - it's had one or two little repairs over the years. According to the first owner (the only other owner apart from me), it was on the last shipment from Italy, so if they were ever going to find fixes for the problems, then this one should have had them. Probably the biggest thing in its favour though was that it was Ziebarted from new - something I think the first owner arranged.

I think they were all prone as for sure the steel wasn’t the best. I did read a lot of it was Russian sourced. But with many of the cars that were built at the Pomigliano factory there were various issues with cars being left outside and also a lot of Mafia interference that caused issues with quality and all sorts. The other issue was the fairly extensive use of foam fillers - ironically to protect against water ingress and rust. But they just served to trap the water. On my Sprint I removed all the bits I could get to. From the late 1990’s though Alfa did a lot to rid themselves of the rust reputation. Apart from the 156 I think they’re mostly good. My year 2000 GTV has not a smidge of rust anywhere.

Saw this in a Dubai Mall yesterday, not sure if it is a genuine beast or not (I'm not an expert on these things).

I've obscured the license plate as you can get into trouble in the UAE for putting someone's picture online without their permission, I don't think that applies to possessions, but I'd rather take the chance!
It appears to have Brabus wheels and trim, and is badged as an 800.

If it really is an 800 then it would be ludicrously expensive as I don’t believe that the recent generation CLS was available from the factory with the V8 biturbo - unless it was a Middle East only model - and so if genuine would require an engine swap (not just an upgrade).

It’s a handsome car. Such a shame it never received the factory AMG treatment.

Visitor next door today. Never seen one of these before. Not a fan of Range Rovers etc. personally but must say that back end looks purposeful

I must have been living under a rock as I’ve not heard of Lumma until seeing this thread. Not cheap is it 😮
