I’ve just got back from seeing family on Guernsey. I’m not entirely sure how you would actually drive something like that on Guernsey! (Apart from very carefully!)AMG one for me - just with a Jersey number plate not a horrible Guernsey one![]()
I know - what scares me the most is you are allowed to drive on the pavement! I was walking everywhere when I went and buses would just mount the pavements next to you.I’ve just got back from seeing family on Guernsey. Need you even ask Rob???
P1 for me..... the tiny engined, massive turbo'ed, over complicated hybrid AMG One leaves me cold.
Yes it’s hard on tyres and wheels - and there are very few cars without some kind of impact scar!I know - what scares me the most is you are allowed to drive on the pavement! I was walking everywhere when I went and buses would just mount the pavements next to you.
Be honest. You wouldn’t say no though eh?..... the tiny engined, massive turbo'ed, over complicated hybrid AMG One leaves me cold.
I was more bamboozled at you saying ‘leaves me cold’. How can someone as into cars as you (and us all) not be blown away with the very best offerings?I'd like a go in one.......but im the sort of bloke who got excited about having a go in a mint Mk1 chocolate coloured 950 cc Fiesta at SADCASE recently!....so get a buzz out of driving most stuff....but when I win the £208 mill on the Euros tonight.....ahem..... the AMG One won't be on my shopping list.....to be fair hardly any modern super cars appeal...I want my cars more analogue and about the only one I'd pay money for would be the F40!

To me, high tech, screens, electric motors and about 4 million ecu's don't belong in a real sports/super car.....I was more bamboozled at you saying ‘leaves me cold’. How can someone as into cars as you (and us all) not be blown away with the very best offerings?
I’m sure you’d love it if you had the change to drive one.![]()
You’d LOVE driving the AMG One and you know it.To me, high tech, screens, electric motors and about 4 million ecu's don't belong in a real sports/super car.....
The Mc F1 ...one of greatest supercars of all time and I'm sure most would agree but the car was designed to be lightweight and driver-focused, so no power steering, no ABS, or traction control diluting the feel of steering, handling or braking.....a proper analogue supercar.
......but different strokes etc.
No sequential gearchange? Even my three wheeler has that.Hi,
Despite currently running two full EVs - I am a confirmed petrolhead and have owned three kit cars.
Nothing like a quick open top, manual gearbox and great visibility of front wheel positions and the feeling of the rear wheels through your rear end!
The last one that I had was the Tiger Super Six in the photo below - it had a blueprinted RS 2.1 engine and it made 160hp at the wheels. It weighed less than 500kg - so was very rapid!
I also used to own a 1971 TVR2500M (with a Triumph 2.5 litre, six cylinder engine - 4 speed with overdrive gearbox)
