Keyless Car Washing Tips

More reason not to own a keyless system.

Buy the new GLS - has a car wash mode and so does away with all these irksome things.

Get a faraday cage pouch ... you're welcome

I have a pouch for routine storage - which works but easiest is press twice to unlock which disables the keyless.

Why bother unlocking the car to wash it?
I leave mine locked with the key in the house when washing it.
I never use a car wash or a pressure washer on the car.

I normally get all the doors etc open, vac the car, clean door, bonnet, boot lid and fuel flap insides with waterless, then close everything lock and then wash and rinse the outside, polish then open everything and polish the insides.

Rather than putting the key out of range, has anyone found a way of keeping the key on you but in some kind of protective sleeve/pouch that totally shields the signal?

I ask for this reason and, more importantly for me, to prevent thieves from amplifying the signal from any key in the house or restaurant, wherever, as discussed on another thread here.
The item is called a Faraday Pouch and available on that well known on line shop A....n

I can confirm on my 2017 C300H estate that the tailgate does not open when in a carwash even though I have the easy entry option.

What use is a pressure washer on a car ? unless you have been off roading ? I have 2 pressure washers. One petrol and the other electric, used on off road motor bikes and the other on patios. No need to pressure wash a car.
