Very interesting all of that but what about sorry your honour I had been experiencing a very bad stomach upset all day, its night time, my irritble bowel is playing havoc and I need a toilet now, at that time of night all public toilets are closed petrol stations will not allow you to use the loos at night time for security reasons I admit that I was speeding to get home because I was in so much pain.

I heard of a case that a guy got a small fine on presentation of a doctors note confirming IBS.

I was stopped at 01.05 in the morning doing 47 in a 30, and as I was stopped a taxi went speeding past me, I told the copper to catch him, he breathalysed me and said because I was not over he would do me for speeding instead. 3 points, £40 fine but that was back in 1987 then bugger me I was caught again 5 weeks after that, talk about luck !

Koolvin you wont lose your licence for that, especially if u need ur car for work, bet ya you'll get a nice fine and some points (they are more interested in their cash)

I know some of my mates have been caught by the traffic police heavily speeding and the copper played the tapes back to them but they got points and a hefty fine.

My mate go a fine and 3 points a few years ago...


The storey goes as follows;

Stopped by the law for speeding, doing 40mph in a 30 mph.
(driving a Vauxhall Corsa hire car)

PC Plod: "Do you know your doing 40mph in 30 mile zone"
Friend: "yeah I know, good innit !! (pointing at his hire car).

PC Plod not very amused, booked him with a fine and some points.

RichardM what is your problem? I am sure there is always a right place for you to take your car and responsible speed as much as you wish. Autobahn or Brand Hatch rings any bell?

It's gone but it has to be said. Is this a forum or what? I got 4 points and £340 fine recently myself but the thing is that if you have acted irresponsibly you should not ask for people's sympathy.

Sorry to hear that. It sounds like your experience has left a bitter taste .. no reason for you to have a go at other users of his forum though.

7 out of 10 people have had points, half of them just creep over the speed limit.

going over the speed limit in safe conditions in my opinion is not "dangerous driving", dyno is a fine one to comment after having 4 points!!!

i would have sympathy for you , but you attitude makes me think u deserved what you got! sour taste after the copper didnt give you any sympathy... and to tell you the truth he prob added the extra point on because of the way you spoke to him!

we are all pretty freindly here on this forum, but you dont go into a room full on people dissing em off when you havent even made an effort to get to know them!
