I would have thought that the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon ought to be towards the top of the pile when it comes to a shortlist of suitable venues.

Heritage Motor Centre - How to get here

It's fairly central - a nice distance from London and the home counties to attract the South East contingent - and is fairly close to the centre of the motorway network, so ought to be fairly accessible for any other UK location too.

There's tons of space, it's used regularly as a venue for car shows, there's plenty of facilities, and they even have conference rooms and private dining should it be required.

I reckon it would take some beating personally.

I usually go to Supercar Father's Day at Gaydon - we could maybe get a field on that date so there's loads of other stuff to do for those who want it. Lots of stuff for all the family - being able to bring family or other halves may help make it a realistic proposition for some members.

yes lets get it organised. it will need to be atleast a few months into next year now for a decent turnout IMO.

i'm up for anywhere that isnt south of the country as i feel that would be unfair to people up north.

midlands happily gets my vote.

The location is always going to be debatable - how about if we can discuss a date as well?

My vote would be for June 2010 - more than ample time to plan.

or May ? we have 2 bank holidays then

We could have done much better at SILVERSTONE yesterday.

It should be organised for next summer but this whole event will need someone to step up and actually organise it to get the ball rolling.. ;) (not throwing the responsibility on anyone or anything...)

Did you just step forward, or did everyone else step back??!! :dk:

;) :D

does it really need much organising?

ie just turn up at X time on Y date and meet in the car park.....

if there are BBQ's or marquees etc planned then of course, there is more involved.

I think as Vinni (Koolvin) is responsible for that Amazing Flag :) he should put his name forward. :thumb:. Silverstone sounds great. Maybe a poll.

I'm quite happy to help on this if needed (OMG what am I doing ) I organise an Annual conference and Dinner for the Engineering Society I am involved with we regularly get 200+ members (In fact this years is 2 weeks on Friday at Scarborough). Its not that hard organising the type of event we are looking for but before you undertake the organisation of an event like this you have to satisfy the 3 W's
  1. When -- Need a suitable date (I think June 2010 works well)
  2. Where -- Need a Suitable venue, accessible for all members.
  3. What -- What do we want a GTG + Dinner, Dinner & Dance etc..
Sort these out and the rest is easy. Quite happy to help so Mod's ,Admin, Staff the offer is there.
