I removed from my 202:

Club pedals
Dimming RVM
Blinds, side and rear
DVD player and TFT screen
BP TravelPilot

It took about 20 mins. When I think of how long that lot took to install...

done similar today to my BMW in readiness for new car ... de-modding is always a much quicker exercise for some reason ! :)

New car looks mint ... very nice indeed.

Will there be any mods ?

I had a few minutes spare on Sat, so removed the AG grille as well.

As far as mods go, I've done the pedals already;
I think I will be fitting the DVD player in the boot,
the screen will go back on the centre console cover.
I am looking for an APS 30,
I would like a rear sunblind as well.
W202 cupholder doesn't fit, boo hiss
Unless I am presently surprised (see next post) I will be fitting a 12v outlet as well.

After that I don't really know what's possible...

I’ve had a chance to get a bit of a feel for it now, so here are a few observations/comparisons between the 202 and the 210 –

Its quiet, I mean really quiet.
It’s really comfy, and I can get the driving position spot on because of the adjustable column.
It’s huge in the back
There is significantly more torque, maybe my W202 was a bit tired?
The steering is a lot more direct
At 23mpg, it’s 4mpg up on the W202 (love that trip computer)
The tiptronic box is super-smooth
I really like the little interior lights all over the place
I really like the remote boot release
Xenons. Wow.

But, It’s been 20 years since I had a saloon and I had forgotten that –

There is a big lump of boot so you can’t reverse using the bottom of the rear window as a guide.
There is no rear wash-wipe so you can’t see out when there is a dew.

And surely this can’t be true – there is no 12v socket in the boot?? Where am I supposed to plug in the cooler? Maybe I just haven’t found it yet!

w210

Hi nick glad yor happy with the new motor - i 've had mine 2 years - done over 70,000 in that time - been a gr8 car , mine's a 98 so no trip computer - or steering wheel control's :( - agree shame about the no power in the boot - about to install one in mine - 7.95 for the skt from the stealers - sounds like the best bit of mine is 32+ mpg - diesel. - specially at OUR fuel prices

Darn, I was hoping there was one and I hadn't found it yet. If you've ordered your socket already, is there any chance you can let me have the part number?

skt

Have ordered it - not yet collected it - but just ask the stealer for the 12v skt from an estate - they do have them fitted as std - cant see why saloons dont - believe this may be diff on latter models tho. Will collect mine in a day os so - let you know the no then
