The EV fact thread

I must admit having ditched the EV, my commute back from work is so much easier. No range anxiety, heater on when I need it, the worry as to whether MK ionity will be busy / functioning is gone. No more trying to work out your place in the queue or waiting 30/40 mins for a charger, whilst the one tesla owner is sat there at 100% charge, whilst having dinner elsewhere (not having a dig at tesla drivers, just an example from my experience) and a Renault zoe is hooked up to a 320kwh charger drawing 50kwh ish tops 🙄

Loved the silent drive, instant torque etc very relaxing on a long journey, but it doesn't work for me right now given my job and where I live.

My wife has the Ioniq 6, brilliant car and she loves it, but her range and car spec was superior to mine (where it matters).

Oh and ionity doubling my subscription rate without warning ... Nice one.
What did you dump
and what did you switch to?

All of the years I was heavily involved in Volkswagens, be it club meets, big events, organising shows or just buying and selling them, I never much came across a harlequin Polo. Not seen one in a long time either.
PS. Anyone I’ve known fitting teddy bear alloys would be ripped. 😆😆

I gave it a go given the tax break, just wrong selection of car. Not having a go at genesis, quality product, just they were stingy with UK release specs.

What battery size did you get? And how long was your daily commute? And did the on-board satnav not tell you in advance if chargers were available?

I had the IONIQ 5 for over 2 years now, and for the first time, I will be driving it long distance (to Switzerland) later in the month - hoping for a good charging experience.

77kw battery.

274 return commute, typically between 24/48hrs between the two trips.

Onboard nav would indicate if chargers available, however it stipulates data might not be reliable 🙄

67k car without heated seats or wheel, both an absolute must on an EV 😫

I did hint….

(Still worried about Germany banning Kane from playing for England in the Euros, using an obscure 1898 law…)
What's that? Thou must not win a Trophy!
Poor Harry, went to Bayern to win a Trophy and they've had the worst season for about 10 years. 🙄 Not an April fool, true. Doesn't bode well for the Euros. He's jinxed. 🤔 Really hope I'm wrong though. 🙂
