w211 e55 amy low bhp dyno results

Yes, Acid could well be taking time-off and I've no doubt it's well-earnt.

Every time I've been up there he starts early and finishes very late.

I would persist in the NY though as Acid is a top chap and will be able to resolve, or at least clarify if there are no issues, as AMGeed states.

Update on this issue. Today I noticed a large hole in the drivers side air intake hose. The passenger-side air intake hose is also a quite loose. I read a lot about how high IAT's can cause a retardation in the timing at high IAT's/ Chaps, would splits/holes in the air intake hoses cause hgh IAT's? And if so, how would it cause high IATS???

Possibly, sucking in air from the engine bay will be hot instead of the path it should take through the intake from outside the front grille. Get them changed and you're bound to see an improvement.

Thanks Steve. One other thing is during the last 4000 miles of use, Ive had to add an additional 2 and a half litres of coolant to keep it topped up. Do these cars usually use that much coolant - or is it possible I have a leak somewhere???

That sounds like there's a problem somewhere. Could be something like a weak cap, split reservoir or a more sinister issue.

See if you can get a pressure test done.

Shouldn't use any coolant.

With the engine off and cooled down sufficiently, put your hand under the water pump and see if its wet/damp.
I had a water leak on an M112 that was traced to a leaking water pump. 2.5 litres is a lot to leak in 4k miles though.

Update on this - took the car to MSL today. Acid and his team were just amazing. Turns out the most likely reason for the low dyno results at the other place I took it to were - 1. Their dyno was possibly not calibrated. 2. There were huge holes in my air intake pipes which would have raised the IAT's. So, I taped up/over with the air intakes as a temp fix with gaffer tape, and on Acids dyno, it ran 545 bhp and 647 lb/ft. Thankfully, as Acid said, my engine is strong and healthy. Not bad figs for a 116K mile car with just a remap and xpipe!!!
