Its going to be a twin TFT screen, as per the W222. - ignore the temp analogue dials.

I sincerely hope so, as that feature is one I totally loved in the 222 I had for a week. Getting back into my 231 SL made it felt distinctly low rent.

Why are the side windows so small. They've been reducing the size ever since the W211,now the door panel to window ratio is becoming ridiculous. Makes the interiors very claustrophobic, particularly in the rear.

Bare in mind there is about 8cm of camo covering over the bottom of the glass line - Dont appear to be small to me? :dk:

What you meant to say is that they (mercedes) have been reducing the size ever since cars began. Each generation has less height in the glass.

W123-W124-W210-W211-W212 are all like this.

Partially helps safety, mostly it's done for aerodynamic/aesthetic reasons.

MB are not the only company doing this. It is a general trend across the industry.

Yes I've heard the safety arguments many times. But since the door reinforcement is actually located in the middle to base section nowhere near the window, it doesn't really stack up. I suspect, as you said, it's mostly done for visual reasons. Does make the rear cabin very claustrophobic for young children though.

^ Looks like a Passat. That's my main gripe with the W205 too (and the W222), it has lost its traditionally angular, masculine lines which I've always associated with Mercedes cars.

I'm sure it'll scrub up well in AMG trim and big wheels though :)

I believe for some time now Mercedes cars have been styled with a eye to Far Eastern sensibilities. More Ming dynasty than Bauhaus I would offer. Some people like the slightly anonymous "melted blacmange" look- perhaps to an extent dictated by aerodynamic considerations - I'm not one of them. :(

We know what it is going to look like, the C and the S Class, which unless you can see them to scale are hard to tell which is which, this will just be the same.

Mercedes will soon drop the name C, E, S Class and just call their cars small, medium and large.

I will wait to see the finished article before passing judgement, but that looks so dull.

Like they have always done, not sure why this is considered to be a new thing.

Look at the W140, W124 and the W202 all looked identical and were on sale at the same time:

I know, I don't think it is a bad thing, I was just saying they are back to all looking the same, may as well just call them small, medium and large.

The problem for me is I am not feeling the design that much on the new models, front is OK, especially with the traditional grille and star on the bonnet, but the back end looks a mess to me, on the saloon anyway.

This is the AMG Line spec with the night package. I like the wheels but they look a bit BMWish.
