What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Taped the third brake light on my R230 SL to the boot to stop water getting into the boot :wallbash:

I hope the replacement has a better seal the original.

Got mine ready for a major service and MOT tomorrow at Mercedes Leicester.

After 10 long weeks I took the bike rack off the roof. It's been useful but am off to Wales tomorrow without bikes so no point in the having weight & drag up there.

Waxed, cleaned, driven and put away dirty again.

Admired it after a week of mods and repair to the car.

Changed all the interior lights to white LEDs.
Changed reverse lights to white LEDs
Changed the door lights to project Mercedes emblem.
Changed the door lock pins from plastic to metal ones.
Installed Carplay/Anroid auto to OEM screen.
Fitted 2 new tyres to the rear wheels.
Got the EGR Valve replaced.

Next week full service

Just driven the Wrynose & Hard Knott passes in the Lake District. I have driven some challenging passes throughout Europe but this is up there with the best of them. Apparently this is the steepest road in England and It’s not for the faint hearted. Driving rain with the wipers on full pelter made conditions far from ideal. Well worth it regardless.

I took Missy out for a drive and ended up at a lovely pub next to the river in Nayland. Had a nice walk along the river and then a cool beer at the pub.

Similar here, Cora's back at church on Sunday morning so after that we took the S204 for a battery recharge drive towards Camber and had a walk along the sea wall Lydd side of Camber, then adjourned to The Star at St Mary for refreshment, all very enjoyable! Should really have taken the SLK roof down, but was not expecting the day to be as nice as it was - but the 204 needed a run anyway!

I've done those in the SUV with my wife whimpering and wanting to turn back. Until I told her we are more than half way and have to stick with it. No way I'd take my CLS there.

The SL handled it well. You do need to be confident of your car and of your ability as a driver as the road is testing.

Two weeks ago I washed the car, cleaned the seats & door cards & hoovered it ready for Wales.

Yesterday I washed 700 miles of muck off it.

Soon I need to get the N/S ball joint & arm replaced.
