After a quick wash and a coat of Sonax BSD , not bad for a 12 year old car

Sworn at it - the S204 shopping trolley. Not used it for 13 days, went to use it for a trip to the garden centre for plants for our hanging baskets etc, starter did about 1/4 of a turn and died, battery dead. Oh well, drag the extension lead and charger out again - had given the battery a full slow charge just before last time we used the car, so it had 2 x 8 mile runs (supermarket run and fuel up, so 3 starts) and been parked on the driveway since. Battery is only about 1 year old, 100Ah proper job.

Sorned the W211 E220, lad has got a new car as the Merc. is too big for his partner.

Decision of the day now is sell the E220 or keep it, I'm for selling it I think as I have too many cars just now.

Whenever I see an SL interior, I just love it, it's timeless. Lovely leather seats also. Oh nice sound of the bird chirping also.

I put some petrol in today and cleaned the wheels. Fronts need more cleaning at the back, the rears are nearly there. I marked them slightly which is always annoying, will touch them up if I can!

Had the windows down which is always good.

Fixed the rear light earth wire burning out issue on my W204 (both sides) and discovered the tail light and brake light use the same single filament bulb. I guess its a lower voltage on the lights then the full 12v for the brake light. Either that or i have a bigger problem

The voltage is the same for tail and brake lights 12v The wattage is different 21w for brake lights and 4/5 w for tail lights depending on the bulb, single filament is 5w twin is 4w So you may have a problem ...............

The sprinter vans use a single filament bulb that does tail and stop. The canbus adjusts the voltage to the bulb if brakes are applied.

Purchased 20mm rear & 10mm front spacers, should arrive tomorrow, will post some before & after photos.. Booked in to get the seat bolster adjustments fixed
