What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Had the 2015 c200 for about 2 weeks now. Got the intelligent light. Wasn’t that impressed. It was bright. Nothing intelligent about it.

Today I realised it wasn’t switched on. Pushed the stalk back and WOW
It’s unbelievable.
Even better at night 😜

Not bad for £70! Link please?
There are several

I used satnavishop, but others have used navishop oslr a seller on eBay who appears from time to time.

I got a deal price as I have used him several times over the years but it's under £100 usual price and have always worked fine.

Does take a while though and you cannot let it freeze or stop else it will brick your unit (hence leaving the engine on....)

A bit of fun/chance to share, and shamelessly plagiarised from the other side (currently running a c4000 posts).
If it's been done before, I couldn't find it.

Can it survive thread assassination on this side - who knows :dk:.

I'll begin:

Dropped it off for an A service/rear washer jet replacement.
went on a nice cool drive 😎

Did the school run this morning in it, dropped my girls off at school.

Then drove about 130 miles for a business meeting, then came home.

Filled the mahooooosive boot up with boxes and crates out of my garage and dropped them round to my Mum's garage (I'm moving house in 2 weeks!)

What an eclectic and wonderfully versatile car it is. School run, check. Fast motorway stomp in comfort. Looked the part in the car park whilst meeting up with customers for a business meeting, then wafted me home in the blink of an eye. Then, took a huge load with ease.

Why would anyone want anything else?! :)
I’m tempted to buy one more cause of this comment !

Drove the SLK a few miles to where daughters were buying me brunch for dads day - roof down of course

On the way down there, EML and ABS message.....:wallbash:

Drives fine (no hold, Eco or s/s though) return home, phone Mobilo (as it's still full MBFSH)

17 mins later Ross arrives in his MB painted van, plugs it in and confirms what I had Googled, ABS Speed sensor has failed (on the o/s/f)

He'll phone the local Main dealer (2 miles away) , expects they will have the part (it's common) and should be able to fit it on the drive tomorrow all being well.

And as the car came with a 2 years extended warranty, it will all be covered (and no I won't do the other side unless the warranty wants to - it runs until March 2026!).

Gotta say, I may be being lucky etc, but credit where its due, that is good service.....

Had the SLK Ceramic Coated

With the Matt paint it was the sensible thing to do. Not cheap, but sensible (and worth it)

The complete decontamination wash and clean and coating has really lifted it.

I thought I was thorough...!

Oh yeah, Mobilo sorted out the ABS wheel sensor yesterday, so all good

We received a call a few days ago to say that our touring caravan was making a loud beeping noise. We haven’t used it since August, so suspecting that it was the smoke alarm batteries running low we set our alarm clock for 0505 - because that feels so much more acceptable than 0455 - grabbed six Litium AA batteries and jumped in the car.

We left the children at home because they’re miserable at the best of times, and with blue skies and sunshine at 0600 I was gutted to be unable to take something with two seats and an open top. Instead we took something with a big boot so that we could take a jet wash, big box of cleaning gear and all of the bedding and towels.

A relatively clear run meant that we covered the 240 miles in 4h 50m. We then spent more than 9 hours cleaning the inside of the caravan (non-stop) and jumped back in the car to drive 240 miles home again in 4h 25m, arriving home at 0225. So more than 9 hours driving and 9 hours cleaning all in one day! We didn’t have chance to do the outside.

We do inow how to have a good time! It was a long way to change the smoke alarm batteries and but it’s done now 😀

The 212 pressed into bike carrying duties today - and I gave my 1981 Gazelle Champion Mondiale AA an outing. I hate to say it but it rides almost as well as my custom Enigma Excel which is Ti. It’s easy to think bikes have progressed immeasurably, but in many ways not so much. IMG_0925.jpeg

The old bike is a joy, even though I have to wear ridiculous footwear (not even going to post a picture out of embarrassment. Only a very small demographic would think these shoes are cool!)

In a few weeks the 212 will cart us and three bikes to Roanne in France for a week long cycling event.

Blooming rained as each car finished being washed.
