What MPG are people getting?

That 3.5 V6 is pretty good.

My E350cgi is the later engine with the 7g PLUS gearbox and I have just reset the OBC after 15,000 miles and it was showing an average of 30mpg which is seriously impressive it was at 31mpg before winter, but the colder weather and nothing really but short journeys dropped it down.

I get 27-29mpg from the 6 mile school run, which is slightly better than I got from the 350 cdi before it.

I am down to around 15-20k miles a year now, so it costs about £5 a week more at most over the diesel.

Got about 460 miles to a 60l tank it seems 3/4 of the tank motorway. I assume these 3l v6 diesels don't sip the gas at motorway speeds [emoji23][emoji85]

Should no complain . I used to get 61mph on (E-220 se blutec 7g plus )last summer but this year the best of all came on 55mpg. For the exact same school run on winter I get 35 to 39 mpg. I think yours better to compare

I'm getting pretty crappy economy out of my 63 plate CLS 350 CDI Shooting Brake.
Only filled it up about 6 times so I don't have vast amounts of data.
On a long run oop North I was only getting 34.4 mpg. Admittedly I don't hang about but almost all of it was with the cruise on at a certain speed +20.
Last fill up was half a tank of almost all short journeys to work and back and the shops and that returned a very poor 23.4 mpg.
Bad conditions for economy I'll agree but even my old E320 CDI S210 was doing better than that.
Love the car, not at all impressed with the fuel economy.

That's your reason right there...

My W204 C220 CDI does pretty good MPG.

I got 80.7 MPG on a recent long run -- see the photo. It was just over 160 miles and all but about 15 miles was motorway.
I was on my own on the car and not in a hurry.

That said, I find that the on board computer is optimistic.

I just think of sport as the 'normal' setting I guess. If it's icy or very wet I put it in comfort but, in my car at least, there's not really that much difference between the two. I occasionally put it in manual for a bit just for fun, but the fun wears off pretty soon - it's a lot easier to use the paddles while in sport and then stick it back in D once I've had enough.
Mine defaults to 'C' comfort mode on start up and does not use 1st gear to pull away from standstill. my diagnostic says the box is in 'winter' mode on 'comfort', which is what I believe shows up on the dash in other markets 'W' in this mode.

Our engines are very different , I can not leave mine in 'sport' for any length of time as the 'take off' from start is ...er 'spirited' shall we say and not suited to everyday driving.

I agree its nice to have transmission options when the mood takes.

After 7 months my 2013 E220D is still averaging 35mpg, but I don't have any concerns as I do city driving mostly. I had a night with my mate's C63 507 last night, averaged about 11mpg.:D

It can't be all of it.
The old 320CDI estate was doing better than that at the same speed with a lot more wind resistance.
I was expecting an uplift in economy given the same driving style and I'm not getting it.
Current average is the same but the low point is less already.
I'll know more when I have more data but at the moment it's not looking good.

Since a service my w203 C350 is regularly showing 35+mpg - happy with that!

W211 e270 cdi 2003 50 mpg .

Seem to always get 460-500 out of a tank here. My trip generally shows 35-39 around town and I managed to get it near 45mpg on the motorway driving spiritedly. The difference a service makes is huge

300CE-24, 1/4 million miles, 35 mpg on 500 Km motorway run at up to 90 mph.

Stop/start around town, a different story; around 16.

So, I use the Metro!

C250 CDI w204 estate is getting between 47-50mpg on 17 mile return trips to work on rural A roads with 1 mile town driving and 55-60mpg on steady motorway runs. Not bad for a 200+ Bhp estate ey?

Only done around 2,000 miles mostly local trips and consumption showing 25.2. Having said that I did a shortish motorway trip and got 35MPG.

My w203 c220 has done an average of 44 mpg over the past four years. That's total of fuel bought divided by miles driven. The dash display is usually around 10 pct optimistic and sometimes goes over 60 mpg on a motorway but in reality that's probably more likely to be around 54.

Also, the more the tyres wear, the less accurate the mpg screen display will be. A worn tyre can be 1cm smaller in diameter than a new tyre, so the odometer becomes inaccurate. So even my own calculation based on fuel bought may be a bit optimistic as it's based on recorded miles.
