Do these wheels/tyres fit?? Read this first! Offset/fitment answers within..

Had a look through the thread but couldn't find the answer. I have a set of 7 1/2JX16 H2 Mercedes alloys with ET41 to replace the 15" alloys on the car and assuming they fit need to know what size tyre to fit.

Thanks in advance.

I think I have it sorted, 195/55/16. Being new to car tyres can anyone recommend a good all round tyre?

Ignore; did not see you had changed alloy size from 17 to 16". think you could manage a bit wider if you wanted on those rims 205 or 215 even. I have 15" 6Js with 195 on them.

Can someone please tell me if a set of SLK wheels 16x7 et37 will fit a 2000 W210 that has 16x7.5 et41 and would I still be able to use the tyres I have 215/55x16

Is it possible to rethread the original MB 14mm bolt down to 12mm so the R14 cup seat can still be used? Would this compromise the strength of the tread? Thanks.

My question is what is the largest size you can fit on a w204? I just bought my first car and I want to change my rims.

so from your post I'm guessing the biggest is 20"?

Hi ,

I'm guessing their 8 1/2" x 9 1/2" staggered rims which means they will fit according to the stud pattern , but i'm sure you will need at least 10mm spacers fitted along with longer bolts to avoid rubbing . the correct fitting for this model according to the fitment guide is 8" x 9" ET 31 and ET35 ... i'm looking for some myself :thumb:

Hope this helps :)

looking to replace my amg wheels on my CLK 430 (208).

I have according to the paperwork

Front - 7.5jx!&H2/ET37/35* with 225/45R17

Rear - 8.5jX17H2/ET30* with 245/40R17

I have read the the chart and I would like to go 18" all round. What im  about is the different manufacturers next to the sizes Im interested in. My car is the Avantgarde model

Different manufacturers offer different wheel/tyre combinations. Mercedes and AMG are quite conservative, with Carlsson and Brabus offering wider and larger wheels. Reputable wheel retailers will ensure what they supply you is appropriate for your 208.

Hi all, I'm looking at a set of 18" 22 spoke turbines from an SL for my 08 S211 avantgarde, (I'd buy them new from the alloywheelsdirect site Chris but credit crunch dictates carefully pre-owned will have to do for now!). They have the 255/40 tyres front and 285/35 rears, all Michelin Pilot Sports.

The document Chris has attached on the sticky states this combination does work, and states this combination is approved by Brabus, but my questions as follows:

- Will they be a very tight fit being so wide, and will I need spacers/longer bolts or both or will they rub?
- Will this combination knock my speedo out, I've heard of others having problems with the electronics when the rolling radius is out?

Thanks all.

Hi Yellowbentines!
You should be fine > Thw 255/285 tyre combination is usually much more expensive than 245/275 so consider changing when they are due for replacement. You'll have a good bit of clearance still and the electronics adapt - follow the procedure in the car handbook.
Same bolts as your existing wheels, no adapters required.

Hi Chris, I have a W203 pre facelift on 195/65 R15 -6J15 H2 ET31. I have been offered a set of wheels from a W204 205/55 R16 7J16 H2 ET43 would these fit my C class C220CDI Classic, If so I would need a set of wheelbolts can you supply?
Regards
Col

Hi Col
They'll fit fine. Use special wheelbolts from RAD in M12x1.5x24R14 - try an internet serach for "RAD 4052"

Hi Col
No adapters needed.
