Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

85 and drives an original GT40. Nuff respect to the gentleman and nothing else really matters. 👍
I've seen that car being driven at Goodwood... It's not an original.....it's a GTD replica built in Poole! As good as replicas get with bodies built on chassis that were from cars registered in the correct period (hence the registration date and plates).....but replicas none the less.

MOT says first registered Dec 63

Yesterday I saw a 71-reg Toyota Landcruiser 3-door. I can’t remember the last time I saw an almost new Landcruiser, and I can’t remember seeing a 3-door Landcruiser for many years.

At the weekend I also spotted a primrose yellow X-reg Austin Rover Metro in mint condition, maybe even better than new. Again I can’t remember seeing one.

There's a reason for that ;)

On a more serious note, it's often the cars that weren't actually that good so the majority went to the scrap yard in double-quick time that we get drawn to today due to their rarity. A short drive in most of them would quickly dispel any wistful memories.

Our team manager for works Jaguar racing team back in the 80's ran an E type for many years. He has recently changed it for a very nice 'Pagoda' Mercedes which he feels is just on another level in terms of engineering quality.
Just sayin'....View attachment 139347
If I were ever faced with that choice, I think my head would simply explode! Can't I have both please?

Simple! Solve the dilemma by taking the yellow Mexicort in the back ground...if you could afford (no pun intended..) to now! :dk:

Saw some beauties at the weekend at Duxford for Spring Alfa Day. All Alfas of course! Also found my GTV's twin (Mine is on the right - and was the nicest there)! Four GTAm's, two 8C's, two SZ's, Montreal... and plenty of other delights. Around 500 cars maybe. Duxford was superb as well - id not been for years, what a museum...excuse the rubbish pics - i was determined to spend more time looking than taking photos this time...

Not been to that for a while....as clean as my 159 is...its now done 170,000miles....so I'd have parked it at the back!!
A GTAm came into work today (the no rear seat model).....looked great in green.....but i still cant get my head around rear doors with no rear seats!! Id rather have the seats....so buy the GTA version and spec the GTAm aero pack. Well that and the fact that is about £60k more than the stocker with only 40 extra horses (540 horses...0 to 60 ....3.4s!! 186mph....5 mph SLOWER that the stock one!!) suspension, wheel and exhaust tweaks and a cosmetic makeover. Especially as the new stock Giulia Quad will have the same engine....so rumour has it!!

Looked exactly like this one...

There were all sorts to be honest - one thing i like about Alfa meets actually, some were quite ropey so not all garage queens by any stretch! You could spec the GTAm with rear seats - i know at least one was. That makes more sense. The GTAm's i think had development work done by Sauber but not sure what they actually did. They are stunning but im not a fan of the over the top graphics on some of them. White nose yes, but not the tricolore as well. Plus we noticed from the rear the tricolore is reversed! They should have changed it in the middle of the roof or something.

I think you will find that any GTAm with rear seats is a GTA with the m bits added on rather than the other way. The m has roll cage bits and race harnesses where the rear seats would be so its just about impossible to fit seats.

I think you're right - i thought i had seen a GTAm talked about with rear seats but maybe it was "just" a GTA

We went to many Alfa days from about 95 up to 2001 at a stately home up north somewhere.
We also went to the owners club meetings at a pub in Marylebone.
Might have been Stanford Hall? That was the first one i went to circa 1995 in my Sprint Cloverleaf. Now the National is at Bicester Heritage which is a great venue. There was something like 1200 cars last year. I go to the Surrey section meets at The Seahorse in Guildford or (as last night) The Star in Malden Rushett. There's normally min 20 cars even in the winter.

Yep. Stanford Hall.

Our convoy was always a couple of Suds, a GTV and an old 70’s Spider. Great day out with a bbq done by our Italian mates.

There were a couple of other Alfas but I can’t recall the models.

Seeing lots of unusual cars at the moment. I spotted (and smelled) a MkIV Supra for the first time in absolutely ages today.

Ooooh, I also saw an E46 BMW M3 ina beautiful purple colour.
