Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Could not move for expensive motors and exotica around here all weekend....Members Meeting at Goodwood. Certainly was some money in that Chichester Bypass traffic jam!

Some say there’s a terrible recession going on. Other views are available.

Highlights from the 80th Goodwood Members meeting. (And these two clips barely scratch the surface of what goes on)

We were saying the same yesterday at the car show at Wembley. A phenomenal amount of money sitting there.
And a phenomenal amount of consumption going on as tens or hundreds of thousands go to these expensive events and spend wodges of wonga.

Aintree, Bicester Scramble, Cheltenham, the Derby, Elton John.....

No end of alphabetical ways to spend a hundreds or thousands on a Grand Day Out, including tickets, travel, catering...

And everything sells out, long before.

Two hundred thousand people at Goodwood Festival of Speed ? Sorry, sir, that's nearly sold out now, three months before the event.

Times is hard.

I was at Cheltenham and the dough floating about was unbelievable.

Great spot.

Any idea how many are in the road or of its value?? Do you know the owner?
I stopped and talked to him for a while, had never met him before afik.

He obviously had owned it for a very long time, and was very knowledgeable indeed. It seemed apparent that he had been involved in motorsport to a considerable level (aside from racing the GT40) and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him. When I suggested that it may not be the most comfortable vehicle to drive, he pointed out that at 85 he still had no issue with it although "you need to have all your own teeth, because the suspension feeds everything straight to you unfiltered "

The condition of the car was what impressed me most, it was utterly stunning imho.
Obviously I asked his permission before I took the pictures, and I was pleased he acceded because I felt it firmly belonged in this thread.

85 and drives an original GT40. Nuff respect to the gentleman and nothing else really matters. 👍

Obviously not the Dan Gurney car, no bubble in the roof for his crash hat!!:D:D:D:D Boy I'd love a bit of time behind the wheel of that, preferably while moving of course!!
