Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Alas I couldn’t get a picture as I was driving, but on the way up to Barrow in Furness I saw a very early 928 in that lovely gold colour. Ive always liked the 928. Just seems a really nice layout and size for a useable GT car. Amazing design to think they came out in 1977!

This isn’t the one, but identical

Blooming love a 928, they’ve whizzed up in value in recent years. To think, most were garden ornaments or under a tarpaulin in bits just a decade ago

Heavy to drive, clumsy steering and feel a lot slower than they are. Styling is not for me either, especially at the rear.. I'd take a 944 over one any day. Just my opinion of course. 😄

Terraced house ... shiny red sports car probably worth as much as the house 🤣

No photo as I was driving, but spotted on the outskirts of Bicester today was a gold coloured Aston Martin Lagonda on Swedish plates with the registration "AML".

A wretched VW ID3 stopped me getting closer to it for a good look, but from what I saw it looked pretty mint.

And the original plan was to replace the 911 with this!!

Not strictly on the road as many of the cars on show were trailered there, however here are a few of the wonderful Mercedes on display at the Hampton Court Palace Comcours of Elegance.

Lovely, although that R129 SL60 has an aftermarket exhaust (shock, horror!)

It would have had two plain steel downturned pipes as standard, or the optional AMG 'accessory' back box with twin oval pipes:

I used to live a short walk from Hampton Court palace (the other side of the bridge - East Molesey), and commuted to London every day from the railway station. My dad played real tennis (as opposed to lawn tennis) at the palace for many years.
