Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

He used that to tow a caravan to Scotland last year.....knackered the rear suspension so now he tows with an X Trail! The plastic hydraulic lines they used are no longer available so he had to get expensive custom lines made up.....

Out on my travels yesterday

Lovely Vitesse. You can tell it's a Vitesse partly by the badge on the front wing but also because the side trim reaches almost to the rear lights - on the Herald, it stops at the fuel filler cap. (And, yes, I must get out more...)

When you get out more, make sure you wear your anorak!
😃
Seriously though, it always impresses me the depth of knowledge on here.

As my cursor moved over it, it said 'Triumph Spitfire'. I think it's actually a TR4.
An early one too - no IRS!

Should really plug my phone in and upload some photos of last Sunday! Down here we have 2 classic meets 4th Sunday of the month. First is Headcorn Aerodrome, which had an eclectic mix of cars. OK there was too much ordinary modern stuff, but then there was an original Crayford Mk1 Cortina convertible as well as a Mk1 Cortina saloon that had been slightly modified, a couple of Mk1 Lotus Cortinas (genuine!), many TVR's, MG's, TR's, Mustangs, Moggies etc etc so from an interesting car POV it was good - but the cheeky sods make you pay £3.50 to exit the "car park" area, which IMHO is a bloody liberty.

Also, no more than a mile or so away on the 4th Sunday is The Bell at Smarden (turn left exiting Headcorn Aerodrome, left at the crossroads and about a mile on the right). OK, the car park is a bit small so you either need to get there early or get lucky (as we did arriving about 1pm). Good selection of cars, Porsche 968 GTS, lovely RR Shadow for sale for £13k (silly money for a fabulous car IF you can stomach 12mpg and maintenance cost, owner's wife said the passenger seat was more comfortable than her living room armchair!), couple of SL's, a few oldies, and a lovely (from the outside) TVR Chimera450 in a beautiful blue with the worst green leather interior I have ever seen! Only current downside of the pub (which is otherwise good) is just one cask ale and that's Sheps Masterbrew, although they are soon to add Whitstable Bay and possibly a 3rd pump - they're first timers!

3rd Sunday it's The Swan at Little Chart, we went ther last Sunday and were very disappointed - very few interesting cars, plus £6/pint for cask ale. Will not be going there again!

Isn't the Bell up for sale by Hollywood's missus?

Right village, wrong pub! There are 3 in Smarden - The Bell and The Flying horse, both Sheps pubs, and that one owned by Hollywood, they've just (against much objection from villagers) received planning consent from Ashford to convert it into a house. It's a bit of an awkward pub to get into, it's right on the High Street on a massive blind bend, with a small car park behind if you know how to find it, so compared to The Flying Horse (less than 1/2 mile away) and The Bell (about 1 mile away) not surprising that it's not viable as a pub. Villagers tried to buy it as a community asset but could not make a deal.

Alas I couldn’t get a picture as I was driving, but on the way up to Barrow in Furness I saw a very early 928 in that lovely gold colour. Ive always liked the 928. Just seems a really nice layout and size for a useable GT car. Amazing design to think they came out in 1977!

This isn’t the one, but identical

My mistake, I couldn't see the Bonnet and we were late getting to a Friends House, so we were in a hurry! It was Immaculate though!😀
