Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Take a look at the Vauxhall Cresta from about 1961. That was very sifferent from the Humber!

The 1959 model year was when American cars reached "peak fin" and that year's Cad was as extreme as they got. The 1960 model year saw them start to be toned down but the Brits took on board some of that rock'n'roll styling influence.

As you say the PA Cresta was right up there.....

But so were a fair few others such as the Mark II Zephyr / Zodiac.....

And even staid old BMC had a dabble.....

God all that chrome that needs polishing! I well remember my Dad's Mk1 Cortina GT that he used rarely (basically Saturday to his golf club and back!) but washed every week and I got the job of cleaning the chrome!

You're not wrong .. here's my 1965 Wolseley 6/110 Mk 2 after a full restoration 4 years ago and still going strong with only 46k genuine miles ...

Even Mrs Swotty loves it! 😊

That was my job as a kid also...in charge of the tube of Solvol Autosol. Still, it was better than being sent up chimneys I guess.

Lovely! But what's that other car in the background - a Sunbeam?
