Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

obviously a Ford & guessing an A model but not sure?
Certainly looks like a Model A Cabriolet. A quick bit of research on the registration turns up that it was first registered in December 1929, so that fits.

This one was on a “classic” number plate and looked totally genuine.
Where I live on Yas Island - most of my neighbours are very wealthy, car crazed Emiratis - many have both modern & classic very tasty cars!
Judging purely by the position and ‘attitude’ of the gear lever, I think there’s a good chance this could be genuine. Compare the pic with this of a Dax replica: most kit replicas I’ve seen have a more conventionally placed gear-lever.

But then again, it could be one-off near-mm-perfect rep, as it doesn’t appear to have a cross piece on the gear lever…

So you pays your money and you takes your choice…

Top picture is definitely replica, bottom picture has a lot of "original" features but never seen an engine like that in a genuine cobra. Could be wrong though.....

Top pic is a Dax Tojeiro, so yes, a replica, with presumably a Rover (Buick derived) engine & gearbox. I found the bottom pic by internet search for 1966 AC Cobra, chosen purely to show the reverse gear cross piece lifter: other than that, i’ve no idea of the car’s authenticity.

I’ve been a fan of these for donkeys years, way back when Street Machine built one and Level 42 used one in the Something About Video. I even had a poster of one on my bedroom wall.

I’ve just done a bit of Googling and can’t really figure out what constitutes as a ‘genuine’ example.

Generally, if you see one on the road in the UK it's a replica!
There are some good companies putting out replicas that are as good as, if not better than, the real things. DB Replicas in Stoke for one, (db427.com), in America there is Kirkham too and some good quality British grp replicas from Crendon. If you'd like any more info Darrell, just let me know.

Real ones are a million plus now...people dont drive them...let alone leave them parked!
Of the original 1000 or so AC Cobras built between 1963 and 1966, only 45 were right-hand drive, with the rest being left-hand drive. So you would be very lucky to see a real one.

Just followed a left and drive C30 CDI AMG like below....never even heard of such a thing....the only real derv AMG apparently (Googled that!). Quite a rare Merc to spot I would think.
