Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Yeah it looked great. Unusual colour. Beautiful.

The more I look at it, the more I like it.
Not just the colour, but the design of the car. It really is a beautiful thing.

A look at the MOT history confirms what one would expect.
Very low mileage between tests.

It does however have a mileage discrepancy, which is a shame, but could well be just a genuine error.

Yeah, I slammed on the anchors when I spotted it. Just had to get out and have a proper look. Striking piece of design.

I used to like them for a slightly different reason.
Back in the late 60's I successfully raced a 1/32 scale slot car version of the car. The shell was so large you could get all sorts of technical stuff under there and still have room for very wide wheels.
I also loved the 'David and Goliath' Mini vs Galaxie salon car races of that period as a spectator.
That's such a race engineer way of thinking. "Hmm, what can I do to give me an advantage within the rules that nobody else has spotted?". LOL.

I haven't see Mini's vs Galaxies but I have seen period Elans vs 250 SWB's at BRSCC races at Brands and I imagine it's very similar with the big cars monstering the straights then getting annihilated in the twisties. Great fun to watch.

He's seen a nice car why would you mot check it and report an error 🤔 He's not buying it

Checking the MOT history gives interesting information such as mileage and can be indicative as to how well the car has been maintained etc.
It would also possibly indicate how long the car has been in the UK.

Perhaps the mileage discrepancy occurred when the car entered the UK?
A typo on documentation that didn't match the odometer when first UK MOT was carried out? That sort of thing

A matt black Lamborghini Gallardo on the A303. Not my cup of boiled leaves, but I have to admit it looked properly menacing. I bet they don’t have any problems getting people to move over when they come barrelling up behind them..

It’s that mindset which has led to the emissions “scandal”. Years ago there was no rule - and no precedent - that would suggest that optimising engine and transmission maps for test conditions would be such a big issue years later.

There is no negativity in what I write - and certainly none in Mactech’s direction - but if you give an engineer a problem then they will find a solution.

Apologies if this post takes us off topic.

Not a car, but saw a Mercedes Zetros 6x6 going past my house earlier. Plain white with a white 20’ ISO container on the back, no idea where it was off to. Looked very roughty-toughty though, sort of like a Unimog’s big brother.

Now that's what I need to carry my Evac Pack.

That looks branners and as beautiful as an ice - queen. My first thought was to convert the container into an accommodation module for the road trip of all road trips. Seems someone else had a similar idea but it's too Abramovich bling for my taste.

Zetros Camper Van

Great car, the Fairlane 500. They used to race them, and Galaxies, in BTCC.

I ran the Le Mans and Pikes Peak winning Romain Dumas when he was a youngster in Formula Palmer Audi. He was a very stroppy young frog when he couldn't get in the top 10 at Mondello Park in Ireland. The car was allegedly a complete bucket of sh1t and the engine well down on power.
The very same car and engine he put on pole and won the race at Magny Cours in France the following week.
I bumped into him a couple of years ago and had a good laugh. He admitted I had actually been right about local circuit knowledge. He has matured into a great racing driver and a much more rounded person.....who seems to have great fun in that Galaxie!

WARNING - ONCE SEEN YOU CAN NEVER UNSEE!

Did not actually see this myself, but was on a Facebook post from Surrey Police. Car is foreign registered and was caught doing 110mph in a 60mph - had to pay a £500 deposit at the roadside and was reported to court
