Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

My next door neighbour came home in a £1/4 million McLaren for the weekend. I suppose it helps that he runs their Press fleet :dk:

It's certainly the colour for a Mclaren and I'm taking a wild guess that it has 765bhp.
Just a few short of the 800bhp XJ220 I drove at the Silverstone Classic a few years ago...

That was true for the Mk3 (Except for Princess Di's apparently?), I Thought the Mk4 was available in different colours, including grey.

Bit late but I thought all the public mk3s were white but 2 were made in black and the one unicorn red car ! !

A Bristol 401 - I think. Only saw it disappearing down the road so can't be certain. Only the one - save you asking....

These cars were "quite interesting" at Goodwood last weekend.

A couple of weeks ago we were heading down the M25 towards the Dartford crossing and ended up behind a stunning grey Mercedes 1950s SL300 convertible. It was LHD but on UK plates and the driver had a huge grin on his face in the sunshine.

He left the motorway before the bridge but drew plenty of admiration from other drivers as he passed them.

They’re great aren’t they? I saw them 2 years ago when we went.

Got some spare lockdown cash?

This guy in Stuttgart has a huge stock of immaculate 1950’s SL’s, all “renovated” (?) to as new condition. They take your breath away when you see them.

only caveat? They drive like 1950’s cars.

Bechtel's stock isn't just a one-off, he has a stream of 190SL's....

They are stunning, and his Pagodas. It would probably be sacrilege but imagine a restomod version along the lines of those that Alfaholics do with the Alfa 105 GTV's. So still very true to the original, just enhanced a tad. I guess if you're spending 200k plus you might be able to stretch to 400k +!

Or put an electric motor in.......... Ah well, I can dream!

That 1958 190SL makes me catch my breath, it is so beautiful
