Parking Sensors / Reverse Camera Retrofit in a W204 Pre-facelift

Hi all

Could anyone provide some advice regarding retrofitting non-genuine parking sensors to a W204 (pre-face) and what are the chances of the sensors failing - lifetime?

Also, would anyone recommend fitting an after market (non-genuine) reverse camera instead of after-market parking sensors (assuming the W204 would have comand)?

If the above two jobs were to be done, they would most-likely be done by Braybrooks, since they now do a mobile service.

Depends on how much you going to spend on the after-market one, but if you should decide to go for one, try to get them as close as possible to the genuine one, as that would increase the car value.

Well, if it's enough for you, then go for the reverse camera, feed into your comand.

I bought a cheap camera from eBay and worked well. I then bought another that looked more like the genuine MB one as this fitted where the genuine one would. Worked of but the camera did poi t down very slightly and as the lens on the camera didn't have the full field of vision but you got to know how car you could go back. I've now got the whole kit to fit a genuine one Inc looms etc. I will be selling the old stuff very soon if your interested pm me and were have a chat. It would come with camera , power cord, lead from head unit to camera and the tailgate Crome trim that takes the new camera.
