Personalised Number Plates

Derek lol.. yes D11LAN at 60k is alot.

but at offers in the 10's of thousands, im sure it will be sold within the next 5 years..

:-)

I do Agree

Someone at some point will buy D11LAN for a serious amount.

The XX AMG one I'm still unsure but its good fun buying selling and using them so in the mean time you get the beifit :)

Saying that its not on your 55 why not :) free advertising (unless it older than 55 of course)

Good luck

make sure you dont spend its value in ebay listing fees in the meantime! :D

Good luck, i guess if you find the right person with the right name who can afford it and wants it they will pay whatever to ensure they get it. Still unsure of £60k though but i do understand its going to reach a good price to the right person.

I like a nice private reg and will probably keep using mine until the Government stop people using them, which surely will happen one day ;) Hopefully not in the next five years ;)

i'm joking :D

Hi AMG - Cherished numbers are one of the best investments today.

A good plate bought well will maintain value and very likely increase in value.

ie - MY 05 CLS is more of a novalty, not expecting any considerable values, but for example

F1
1F
5EX
IC
V1
101 EX
MB 1
0H P15 OF
PEN 15
1D
D1

these will hold value and increase.

F1 - owned by Khan design, bought it for a few hundreds of thousands from a local council but now would sell it for over 2 million quid.

very likely he will get the deal, but still its a challenge to get the right buyer looking for that plate with an open budget.

How much do you reckon mine is worth ?

' JBG 111 '

i agree all those plates will be worth plenty of money. Now is the time to buy i agree.

It won't be Honda then...

Derek's suggestion is rubbish compared to mine. I'll do a straight swap with another registration number - not mine.

i'll swap you a boot spoiler for it :D

All plates are only worth what someone will pay.

If its your initails then its probably worth more to you. You can ask for a FREE valuation from some of the numberplate sites but they are vague as they want to sell it and give you whats 'left' after their fees etc.

I can get my initials as in three letters XXX and the number 200 for £2900 and I'm very tempted.

Yours is a good 3*3 plate and sensible initials so I would think similar (£3k)

How ever as with the 'Boss' of some Mr Mrs Millionaire has those initials and also has JBG 1 and JBG 11 then they could pay an awful lot more :) :)

What - even for this little number:

Hi Howard,

I think you could easily fetch 10k plus minimum.

J and G are popular letters an 111 is a significant simple collection of numbers... ie can be a clean looking plate.. ofcourse J 111 would be would alot more, but 111 is a nice range..

i like the 1's in any plate..

I wanted D111AN V but this was issued in standard issue in 1986 to a ford ghia..

Lord beholds which crap yard is has ended up in.. my dream plate potentially is lost for ever.

my neighbour has D1 on a CL600 - awesome plate and car and my other neighbour has 7X on his SL55..

They just look too good and will defo appreciate in value.. :)

Credit crunch effects middle and lower ground income households, baring in mind, the wealthy, though affected, statistically buy their houses for cash opposed to mortgage, thus many financial vehicles open to them are just adhoc lifestyle accessories, not bread and butter for the year..

So, pitch your plates to the top end, and good luck, as the mkt is never fixed, but purely speculative and subjective to whether the sun is shining or the rain clouds are pouring..

Plates are a funny thing to value, MR51 NGH sold for £101,000.
Unless you realise what it spells that price makes no sense.

I have S1 SDO which looks like SL500, I was told buy one dealer that it could be worth in the region of £5000, never had an offer like that on it though, so I just dont know.

I have VNA 95 on a 1957 Landrover, to me it is priceless as it has been in or around the familly since new. The only time I will remove it is if the car becomes irepairable(i.e the world supply of bailer twine runs out:D)
Worth nothing to anyone else I wouldnt have thought.

D11LAN

have had offers of £25k, £35k etc but would not consider selling it for less.

Many may say its not worth that much, but its got its own intrinsic value to the right person..
other than me..

My name is Dillan

:)

From the DVLA website...
D1 LAN £3,000 Sold in Apr 1995
D111 LAN £2,300 Sold in Sep 2004

Sorry, but I can't see how D11 LAN is worth 20x as much.

Private plates are just a show of wallet size. Absolutely pointless and attention seeking. And pathetic.

Feel free to disagree :)

I disagree :)

me too ;)

i like my plate. Its not worth a huge amount - E11 and then my intials. But looks nice on my car. Looked better on my previous car i must admit as i guess many people think the 124 is really an E reg, but who cares.

its nothing about "wallet size" for me - i think it just cleans the car up a bit. A cheap plate can look very nice on the right car;

T888 CLK for £250 was on my W208 CLK. Finished it off perfectly. New owner obviously didnt agree as its not an active number anymore!!

Hi Janner..

you are right, i cant see it either, except that i do get offers so im not looking to sell unless some desires it.

D1LAN - yes, cheap at the time, now atleast £50-70k

D111LAN - looks crap..
