Any idea when a decision on dates will be forthcoming?

Thanks for the reminder I had planned on letting the poll run until 14th Jan to give people who have been away and not seen the thread chance to participate and vote.

At the moment the following dates are all equal first

30th March
19th May
26th May

I personally think the May dates would be better as weather would be better and we would have a lot more light at the end of the trip.

We currently have 22 participants but only 18 people have voted, could I ask those that have not voted to please do so HERE

I love that location particularly if there is a train going over at the time. Even better if a steam engine IMHO

It's the 14th!!! Any date yet as we will need to book a couple of B&Bs asap.

The Yorkshire Bridge has only 14 rooms and I'm suire some of these will already have been booked. The venue at the end of the drive has only 9 rooms and is quite expensive. I have googled a couple of alternative B&Bs, The Plough at Sleights Which has only 3 rooms and The Fox and Hounds at Slapeworth, near Guisborough, which seems to have 6 rooms. Both these establishments are about half the price of The Cross Butts.

Cross Butts may not be the end of the Route just negotiating on meal rates with a couple of places at the moment. Plough at Sleights is brilliant But we actually might end up HERE owned by a friend of a friend so we will get good food and cheap rates also Ruswarp Hall may be in the mix as the end point will try and get it sorted this weekend.

Ye old Nags Head used to be good. Home Page - - Ye Olde Nags Head Hotel,

There is also the hotel near me £50 - £75 per room 3* with spa facilities and excellent restaurant a few other people are staying here, LINKY disadvantage 45 mins drive to start point, advantage you get to do one more pass through stunning scenery and take part in the Friday night curry night (not necessarily curry )

I'll book hotel nearer time, I may have to take a half day off if wanting to do curry. Finishing at 5pm and making Barnsley any time before 9pm is a non starter with Glasgow traffic

...as much as that idea appeals to me especially as the bride also works for MB I think I would be evicted from the wedding.
