Hi folks

Today my old W211 E220 CDi wont rev. above 3,000 RPM and shows code 2513-1 Check Component M55 (inlet port shutoff motor).

I'm guessing the motor may be bunged up and stuck/sticking.

Anyone any experience of this and am I right in the below sequence?

Soon as I get some time I'm guessing it's remove:

1. Engine Cover
2. Throttle Actuator
3. Charge Manifold
4. Then I can get to the shutoff motor to check/replace

Got my W212 so I'm not bothered about stripping it down and leaving it for a bit while I get it fixed before re-assembly.

I might be barking up the wrong tree, looks like the motor may be removed from the underside.

Need to get the car up and remove the bottom covers to have a look.

Will update the thread just in case anyone else has the same problem.

I was correct the M55 Inlet Port Motor is removed from underneath.

Starter motor is in the way so this has to be removed first.

After the starter motor is removed you have access to the motor 3 bolts and a pop off ball type joint to get the motor out.

The motor (A6111500694) priced up at Mercedes at about £165, it's a Pierburg part, have this on order for £106, hopefully be here tomorrow.

Pleased to report all back to normal.

Saved quite a bit on the part by ordering it as a Pierburg number rather than direct from MB, even had the MB part number stamped on it.
