Not "on the road' as such, but still interesting.

I'm interested to see on the sign that it has a 2.5 diesel with 110hp! That has to be a later transplant, as the first land rovers had 50hp petrol engines, and no diesel option until the 50's. They were very sedate vehicles probably incapable of motorway speeds. By contrast, a series 1 with 110hp would be a very swift machine.

It would take a brave man (or woman ) to drive a series 1 at motorway speed's 😅

At inception it was envisaged they might draw ploughs replacing the horse

IIRC Like many early rover engines they had F head overhead inlet and side exhaust valves-NOT A RECIPE FOR POWER!

There is only one vehicle more uncomfortable than a LR that is the Russian GAZ
Have been driving LRs at various times since late 1950s the last was a, then new, 1996 LWB defender.

Dumped next Curzon Street.
Smashed passenger window and it looks Loki’s somebody has thrown a bottle at the windscreen.
Interior resembles a dustbin.

It’s been there for 2 or 3 weeks.
On double-yellows in Westminster!? I thought they towed cars within hours?

It's a shame really, CLK500s must be quite rare.
