Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Oh, and I saw this the other day..:

I followed it for a while, hoping to get a decent pic'. However the only opportunity I had was when we were stopped at some roadworks (hence the view). It then shot off in a different direction.
The colour scheme was "striking", never been a fan of purple myself. Having said that, it kinda suited the Stag.
Very much of it’s time 💜

Not in the same league, but just to show willing.:

I realise it's only a kit car, of some sort, but I had a good look round it and the standard of workmanship appeared outstanding imho.
Fascinating thing, and cheap as chips too - this "brand new one" on delivery mileage appears to be worth only £15k.

Odd that your one appears to have only done a thousand miles in six years. Ominous?

Continuing the Italian theme, this X1/9 recently turned up at a neighbour's house in the village. Always had a soft spot for them but can't remember the last time I saw one. I'm not sure if this one got there under its own steam, as its last MOT ran out 14 years ago, and a cursory once-over sadly suggests it's very unlikely to get another one!

My wifes friend has an E reg (1987) white one thats shes owned from new as uses as her daily. Ever since it was about 4 or five years old its needed welding pretty much EVERY year to get it through the MOT....every two years or so it get paint somewhere....cant be much of the original shell left!!!

Yes, I think you're right. Mind you, I started to droop a bit after 40-ish years too, so it's not doing too badly!
Methinks they used to droop like that "back in the day"

Please let's not go further into "age related droop"!!:eek::eek:

I went to Le Man's one year, and the owner of this car was a few places behind me in the queue for the ferry. I asked him about the plate and he'd had threats from DVLA, as they were then, to withdraw the plate. He was very blasé about their threats and seemed to relish the thought of a legal challenge.

Methinks a plate like that would cause too much attention be it good natured or bad so I’d take off, put it on retention and put a dateless plate on the car.

Love that story.

A Google suggests that it is the original number on the car. (Who’s knows if that’s true?). Fortunately it’s certainly a car that’s garaged for most of its life so it probably has a safe enough existence.

I think I may have mentioned this in the numberplate thread years ago. Istr that this was the original plate, and I dare say if the owner tried to do anything with the reg, whether it be to retain it or possibly even sell it, he may fall foul of current day's legislation in relation offensive plates etc.

A nice looking white Countach complete with the high wing just passed my work......looked convincing..but judging from the V8 rumble as it went by it was a just a nicely built kit. Looked great though.

That was my fantasy car for a while. I was in front of a white one on the M602 once years ago and that profile/stance in the RVM was sooooo aggressive. Wasn't ahead of it for long though...... Jesus, that thing could shift (it was genuine as I subsequently met the very young bloke who owned it - IT industry of course!)

That would make a good photo thread: “Look what was in my RVM today”
