Spartan Starcraft. I believe somewhere under the hideousness lies a Ford Cortina.

Caught a glimpse of the new MAZDA 3 hatch yesterday on the road- not a bad effort in the metal! Mazda 3 2019 photo gallery

Yes Darrel - you may have seen it before on a forum. I posted it some time ago on the interesting number plates section. Spotted it again this week so took the opportunity to take some more pics and post it in the interesting cars section.

There are a few good Citroens that I pass on my way to work. The line of 4 seems to be a dealer or repairer of some sort. The cars change regularly, and sometimes include a DS estate, which I previously did not know existed. But the SM is always there.

Also saw a Jowett Javelin convention recently; there were about 30 of them including a couple of cabrios, but I did not manage to snap them.

I bet the neighbours love the dealer/repairer taking all the spaces.

Saw this stunning Russian army Jeep in Azerbaijan old city.

Love the flip down combat headlamps!

I like the streetscape as much as the Jeep. Looks like a movie set, very timeless (notwithstanding the Nissan Joke behind).

Hi,
We were very impressed with Azerbaijan- the city of Baku is stunning and with their oil wealth it seems to have a thriving economy.
Here are a few more shots of the old city and new city (taken on my iPhoneX)
I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the balloon seller on the main shopping street in the new part of the city!

Hi,
We were shopping in one of the big malls in Abu Dhabi the other day and they had this immaculate Range Rover police car on display - that had been an escort vehicle when the Queen visited in 1979.

Straying further OT, but did you travel out to Yanar Dag ‘fire mountain’? It looks very strange and rather impressive! (Have not been, just interested.)

Hi,
We certainly did!
Photo below - gas literally sweeps out of fissures on the side of the hill and is on fire - apparently it has been on fire since the 1950’s!
We also took a bumpy ride off road in a Lada taxi to visit the mud volcanoes.
These bubble a cold mud and you can set fire to the gas bubbles that drives the mud out of these mini-volcanoes! - photo below.
The whole country’s history revolves around gas, oil and fire!

Couldn't get a picture, but saw a glorious MGA on the Hogs Back this morning - in immaculate BRG with a dark beige hood...Right hand drive but on German plates, including MG in the lettering. Very nice indeed.
