Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

One of our neighbours have Belgian friends who visit on a semi regular basis and have a dark grey one. It's a good looking thing for an SUV.
Is that the one that wasn’t imported here? We used to see loads in Greece and I think they’re weird looking cars but in a nice way. A little bit like the Skoda Yeti.

A bit like a young Juliette Lewis. 😏

I agree - about the Skoda Yeti.

Assuming you meant the current generation of G Wagen (launched in 2018) then Mercedes went to a lot of effort to engineer the distinctive G Wagen “clack” and “clunk” sound into a much much more modern handle and latch. It’s one of the trademark features owners tend to love.

The car had no reg and it was a couple of years ago at least and it was a used model so possibly older model but AMG - the exhaust on this one pooped out from the sides, not sure if they do on all of them

Side exit exhausts are indeed a G Wagen thing.

The clang of the G Wagens door is one of its selling points, its possibly the most robust, solid doors available.

I miss mine greatly, I just wish they drove like a car :D
I always think of R107 and Porsche 911 doors as having particularly satisfying thunks .

Most sidecars back then were Watsonian....but there were other makes.
A work colleague of mine way back in the mid sixties had a Vincent Black Shadow fitted with a Steib sidecar. It featured in MCN (Motorcycle News) at the time as a record breaker. I had a brief go on it and it was certainly bloody fast.

This is the only picture of such a combo that I can find (Mallory Park in 2009.) I have no idea if it’s the same one, but it looks the same.

As much as I love bikes ever saw the point of a sidecar combo on the road.....it manages to combine all the bad point of car and bikes with none of the good point.....its cold and wet if its raining...like a bike, you cant get it on its ear in the corners....the whole point of a bike to me....and like a car you car weave through the traffic!!
Back in the day before they changed the law a friend of mine road a GSX1100....on L plates with a sidewinder sidecar....they very soon closed that loophole!! You had to be careful on ther left handers though....lean too far and when the side car reached the limit of its travel it would try and lever the rear wheel off the ground....ahh the good old days!!

Had to Google it...:

Walking in the village this morning and I had to put my sun glasses on when passing this 500e Abarth....
I could swear the temperature went up too. One of the very few cars I've seen wearing a permanent hi-vis jacket.....
Acid Green, apparently:eek:. Nice name. Didn't have the geiger counter with me, but it might well have chimed in!

Saw a triumph tr3 at a junction today while it was sleeting. Guy looked perished but reminded me of the times I've driven to Westerham at Christmas in my first cobra. In those days I used to wrap a single electric blanket round me powered through an inverter to the cigar socket. Body was toasty warm, everything else was bloody freezing 🥶

Certain colours suit certain cars/models. This car looks pretty cool and I bet you it's a young chick's car

for me, since my first brand new car 30 years ago, my cars have always been black as in those days and its the same with our children's cars, all of them have been black
