Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

My first car was exactly the same but not the cabrio.

Still as nice now as they were back then.

17-18 years ago, my next door neighbour got offered £1500 part-ex for her GTI against a sickly looking newish Punto..
Wish I'd have made her a better offer and then kept the car.

On the Scottish border with some cobra owning friends, if you look closely you can see my SL around 8th car along!View attachment 94162

My friends son has one of those. He goes to Le Mans with it but it’s sitting in his dads garage just now.

I spotted a BMW i8 the other day. Lovely looking car but not worth the price tag for a Mini engine powered car and with little storage space.

I bought my Golf off a bloke in South Harrow back in 1989. I’d always wanted one from back in the day when the family that lived near our holiday apartment in Antibes used to rally them. Mine was A392 FPK and was an 1800cc rather than the little 1600. What a beast!!
I only had it a while because a MK1 RS Turbo took my fancy.

Back in about 1997 we bought a MK1 GTI cabrio on a G plate off a Rasta living in Paddington. Everything on it was colour-coded in white. Loved it.

I recently saw a beautiful tuned impala.

Saw 2 ‘modern classics’ in a row last night. Neither in perfect condition but both looking used and enjoyed.

Saw this trio of Bentley Tourers last weekend. Nearest is from 1924, the middle from 1927. The third one was too far to see the plates but my guess is it’s also from 20’s.

Wicked!! What did they sound like??

They sounded like proper race cars with a lot of puff, bang and smoke and I couldn't find a fault on the last two. They were immaculate. Beautiful things really.

Some kind of supercar spotted heading the other way, so no chance to take a picture. Blue, very wide, very low. Normally I’m pretty good at recognising cars, but wasn’t sure what this was. Think it might have been a Koenigsegg, I’ve never seen one in the metal.

Cheers,

Gaz

Koenigsegg was my first thought. They have so much presence on the road. In 2006/7 ish I used to take the same route as a guy who commuted in a Koenigsegg CCX. He alternated between it and a Pagani Zonda 😳

Saw a VW Arteon R line today, never seen one before and it looked quite nice

There is a red one for sale at my local VW garage, quite tempted to have a look at a it.
