no picture, but a baby blue colour Maserati Indy running along the Marylebone Road at the weekend. So small, obviously narrower and lower than an Alpine, but probably shorter too despite the front mounted V8 and 2+2 seating 🙀

Just saw a black Fiat X1/9 - it's a small car of course, but adjacent to modern stuff, it looked absolutely tiny! Can't remember the last time I saw one. I know it had many failings but I think they looked fantastic, and still do.

The head teacher of my senior school used to drive one every day. When it snowed the older children would push or even carry it up the steep driveway into the school. Lovely little cars.

A friend of mine had an X1/9 and at higher speeds you could feel it decelerate when the (pop up) headlights came on.

Owned mine since new (1979), not that she’s looked much like when I bought it 😂 Big arch Gp 5 Dallara body kit fitted 1982, the following year she swapped engines for one from a Lancia Beta Spider 2000, modded to about 155bhp. Picture doesn’t show just how wide it is, but the rear wheels are 11.5” wide
