Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

It's nice, for sure, but seriously, who leaves a million quid's worth of car on the street in Kensington?

And who does comfortably less than one thousand miles in the thing over its four year life?

By the way, howmanyleft lists 46 of these registered in the UK, but of those 35 are SORNed :(

I'm pretty sure it doesn't get over speed bumps....

Gollom said that he taxes his only on those rare occasions that he drives it in to Harrods. Otherwise it's SORN'd in the garage.

Just seen this beauty in Troyes on the way down to the Vernasca hill climb in the Alfa. Citroen made some wonderful creations. Also saw a bunch of twerps in various Ferrari’s, Lambos, AMGs etc on their Cannon Run to Marbella via ale Mans. I’m sure I saw David Haye as passenger in a Maser MC20. This DS was the star today though.EF6CD08B-39BF-44FD-B884-C0AB65AF1F16.jpeg1BCDC581-BE96-4946-9E4C-9AF52CA45B5C.jpeg

That'll be a 1965 Chapron Concorde Coupe, based on the DS21, obviously, a four seater coupe

Henri Chapron is more famous for this convertibles, but he also made a handful of these. No more than a handful, methinks.

It must be worth six figures. I'm surprised its outside of a Museum, but great to see.

An oddity is that it has DS21 lights, whereas most had more traditional DS21 headlights, which is why I think it's a mk2.

Typo: while most had DS19 headlights

Great info Mike! If it’s still there ill get some more piccies. It has a Henri Chapron script just behind the front wheels. The interior and instruments are superb as well. What a thing!
Would love to see more.

The Déesse was amazing in its own right but these things took it to a different level.

Magic carpet ride, and those dials ! (Just don't look under the bonnet)

There's nothing quite so classy as a full set of Jaeger or Smiths clocks
(Cough) I know what you mean.

"When you know what your doing" from different times. (1974)

Struggling to place that 1970's dashboard. Anyone recognise it ? Maybe a Bristol 411 ?

I'm not sure it this has been done before - but I thought it may be fun to do again, even if it's a resurrect.

Similar to Scott's scrapyard thread, but with the cars/bikes not quite so dead.

The only rule being that it must be something that you've seen on the road or out and about, and not from car shows/events, or photos from the internet.

Anything goes, as long as it floats your boat.

Here's my starter to ten, seen just down the road the other night.

1973 MGB GT, a proper chrome bumper model:
What about this one? Just saw it pull up and I couldn’t even tell you what it is!

It's an Edsel, a short-lived sub-brand of Ford, named after Henry Ford's son. Marketed in model years 1958 to 1960, it was a complete failure and quietly dropped.

That particular car was called the Edsel Villager and is a 1959 model year example.

That’s awesome to know! It was absolutely sensational condition inside and out. It also sounded amazing despite probably having about 5bhp! A lot of people were taking pictures and talking about it. I love a failure sometimes 🙂

Is a real shame about the Edsel. I think they’re lovely looking cars.

Really? They were considered ugly even when in production......the main reason for their failure..

They were the result of a survey where people were asked what features they liked best in a car. It turned out to be a complete disaster. I suppose they don’t look too bad now because they have become a classic, but at the time they just bombed.
