Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Was it related to what Triumph were using?
I don't think Triumph ever had a V4 (unless it was a very old one), but Saab certainly used Triumph's inline 4, in ever-more-modified states for many years.

Not strictly true.
IIRC Ricardo was commissioned by both Saab and Triumph to develop engines for the forthcoming 99 and Dolomite. Thus, the core dimensions were shared but otherwise they were different engines.

Certainly has - and Hillmans particularly popular.

My dad used to have one of those, or, more specifically, the slightly posher Singer Vogue version. It was an estate, and we often seemed to be filling the back and the 'extra back' as we called it with loads of kids. To say that would be frowned upon today would be an understatement! Ah, different times...

Not a 4-wheeler, but it was so well restored(?) / presented, I thought it worth sharing:

Not on the road either but I thought this was an unusual sight. Three McLaren F1: the most famous prototype road car, the prototype LM and a GTR. Behind me and out of shot is the Le Mans winning car.

Beautiful and mint Bentley Turbo R from the 90s at the petrol station opposite my work. Talked to the owner in the pay queue and he mentioned that it was soon to be for sale.....I said I might be able to afford to buy it....but doubt I could afford to run it. To which he replied that its not bad at all on the juice......"I get 7 or 8 around town.....13 or 14mpg on a long run!"...... positively frugal then! How the other half live!!!
Sounds right. Just about double figures overall - call it 11mpg.

That's partly why you seldom see them with high mileages.

The quote from Bentley's MD is that the average Bentley owner has eight cars at his disposal.

And pencil in £4k a year to maintain it yourself, with occasional help from the specialists. Call it a couple of quid a mile.

Friend's garage?

Seen a lot today and had many chats with petrol heads.
Makes a lot of sense on an island where you can't be much more than 15 miles from everyone else.

Ive been a passenger in K8MCL, 190mph at Bruntingthorpe driven by Dr Palmer himself - probably as well it wasn’t me driving him round. the car was impressive, but to be fair his smoothness even more so

Li125 Special - version 2 methinks because of the aluminium handles.

(I must get out more.)

That build quality is phenomenal. Not original but forgivable, all the same. Wonder who did it?
