Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Interestingly the number plate comes up as currently taxed

Restomods sometimes use that as a specific 'look' - they smooth off the surface and remove any loose/flaking material (sometimes exposing patches of underlying pain colours in the process), then coat with a clear lacquer (matt or satin) to preserve it and stop any further deterioration. Typically everything apart from the bodyshell is new/custom (chassis/suspension/steering/brakes/engine/transmission).

Apart from the dramatically lowered stance you can see a few subtle clues on the above ... very neat & tidy panel gaps everywhere, new looking cover over the bed, new looking headlight units (with indicators/sidelights), bonnet pins and non-standard air scoop (carefully blended in to look original).

So did I, I think - didn't the 'jewelled' headlights revolve to become hidden? (I may possibly be thinking of the Corvette Stingray though.)
Istr the jewelled headlights but don’t remember them rotating. It WAS a long time ago.
Also just hat to get the Mini Marcos that had four fold out ‘jacks’ and removable wheels 👍🏻👍🏻

it certainly was a sight to see
Back in 1983/4 while driving a LWB Bedford CF van i narrowly missed a bright red Grifo in a little street just passed Bristol St Mtrs in Brum. I was err a stupid idiot around 20yrs old flying around on my deliveries, sideways here/there if i could etc. As soon as i turned into the street i saw the Grifo, Van was starting to slide & i pooh`d myself looking at a car i`d only ever seen in Top Trumps playing cards, PLUS it was the 7ltr with the big bonnet bulge. I missed it by inches, think i closed my eyes too as thought i`d got this for sure but missed it. Never seen one since but what a car to look at.

Interestingly the number plate comes up as currently taxed and also has been registered at the DVLA since January 1950! Though the engine is listed as 5700cc so must have been changed.
Was a 1950-51 Studebaker 1/2 ton truck Original motor side valve of around 3.5 -4.00 litre with 3 speed box.
Must have been in this country since new.

Oh yes, I think I had one of them too - folding down the little lever released the each wheel and became a 'jack' at the same time iirc.

Not on the road, but in a friend's back garden (he was tidying his garage). There's also an Isetta, but I can't make the photo small enough to allow it to upload. The bike, which admittedly isn't a car or on the road, actually lives in the dining room.

I must refer you to the thread "any takers"

Lawksamercy, can't stand the ride quality on the four wheelers, let alone the three.

Drove one around the dirt roads of Tuscany and the grip was .... tenuous.

Interesting that their engines and gearboxes are now BMW 2 litre petrol so they better than they used to be.

Just a factory visit. Love car factories.

Great to see a traditional 200 person "family' business employing people pretty much for life.

Different to Affalterbach and Sindelfingen.

You would like the Ducati factory. The MotoGP area was about as far as you could get from Hondas HRC division! (At least when i was there)

Love to see a motorbike in the house. My business partner has one of these in his kitchen.

Yesterday I saw a Citroen Traction Avant towing a caravan from a similar era heading South on the M5. The caravan was colour matched with what appeared to be the same maroon paint. Unfortunately I was travelling in the opposite direction so no photos I’m afraid. Very cool though.

A friend of mine who has never ridden a motorbike in his life has a few. He bought one from a friend who needed to liquidate some assets and ended up putting it in the house as an ornament. He now has a few dotted around the house! It requires a very large and minimalist style to look right though.
