Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

A friend over here in SW France (80 years young) built and races his MGTC - now supercharged - at a number of venues across the region. His car is very, very quick but his nemesis is his friend in an Ulster which, although he is faster on the straights, he just can't match on the twisty stuff.

He's currently reworking the suspension but admits it won't make enough difference and he's resigned to second places again this season. Those Ulsters do seem to be a bit handy.

There's a little 1928 Frazer Nash saloon that normally does pretty well at Goodwood, racing against much more exotic machinery of the era.

The amount VW want for a van these days, the Fezzer is definitely better VFM.
The liquid roofing guys on my job have a 22 plate Transporter in that popular grey colour with alloy wheels, some plastic bits and 3 seats behind the driver. £33,000.

Oooh, love an Amazon estate: another very rare old thing in the wild.

Great to see these things being used as they should.

Sunday 21st April is "Drive It Day" so there'll be lots of classics and "interesting cars" up and down the Esplanade then.

(Memo to self: Lunch at the Buddle Inn?????)
Looking forward to that weekend. 😎
Now that the warmer weather is here the Island will every weekend be visited again by numerous car clubs, be it historic or otherwise. David Bailey eat your heart out. 🤔🤭😆
PS. Buddle is as good as ever. 👌

I like the Buddle in Winter best 👌🏻

Jesus!! Are they that good in relation to the Transit??
Back in the day I ran a couple T4 Transporters and occasionally had to hire Transits. I certainly wouldn't have spent my own hard earned on the Ford; they gave me headaches when I drove them!
These days, is the VW better?
Probably not tbh.

Still as good as ever for me, the old 5 pot engine the better and could be ‘tweaked’ beautifully, this old codger ran 235bhp and was genuinely nippy.
